You always know when you have arrived at the Gold Coast you become surrounded by high rise apartments. It only takes an hour from our place.
Our friends are staying here in a nice low set block only 100 metres to the beach.
We went to the Broadbeach Surf Club for lunch and had delicious fish and chips overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful warm winter's day.
A lovely day for a walk along the boardwalk with friends we haven't seen for many years. George, Laila, Bionic Bill, and Moi.
Bill taking photos for his blog.
Wish we had winters like yours! It's good to see Bill looking so well.
ReplyDeleteCould walk along this beach anytime Diane. What a life!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in Brisbane I always enjoyed a day trip to the beach. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful beach like views and the blue sky, the building were amazing photos and like watching the photo together with your friends.
ReplyDeleteDiane,
ReplyDeleteLovely photos.
We stayed in that complex in 2000, the Olympic Torch etc. went past so we had a good view of it.
Take care.
Margaret

What a beautiful visit to the boardwalk (ahhhh), but I adore this bird. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour winters down there sound exactly like the type of weather I would love... It's cool --but not cold.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of the Gold Coast---and it truly is gorgeous.
So glad you got to see your special friends.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy
I have a love-hate relationship with the Gold Coast. But I have not been there for 40 years. I mut revive my memories soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beach scenes. Looks like you all had a wonderful time. I would love to take a walk in the sand.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful beach! Enjoy your day off with your friends!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, a beautiful beach and bright blue skies, a day with old friends, it doesn't get much better than that.
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed that you have kept in touch with so many of your co-workers and friends over the years! And the scenery as usual, is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my sensitive issue. I am glad that it generated interest. Sorry to hear your parents had a hard time.
ReplyDeleteWhen things are too bad, pain and suffering is great. My mother's last 2 weeks were in Ipwich after a terrible accident. Two weeks is the max, any longer would be a torture for the sick person and the living.
My grand dad didn't fear about talking about death especially his own. He was strong like a horse and told us, when it was time for him to go, he wanted a sickness for 10 days so that all his family are informed and come to see him.
At 84, he had a stroke, and he died exactly 10 days after.
I enjoyed my visit to Brisbane this January. and I went to most places on the Gold Coast you post about.
ReplyDeleteYou go to the green adventure challenge inside Currumbin Sanctuary with your Bionic Bill?
And it was a good lunch too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It hardly looks cold at all. Glad Bill is feeling good.
