BIRTHDAY BEAR HELPS US MOVE

We took some time off from culling and packing to go to the Sunnybank Hotel for a birthday lunch for Bill. We joined our Birthday Bear friends again. If you are not familiar with our Birthday Bear Tradition read here. This time Bear was dressed as a removals man. He had already packed some boxes and had his truck ready for the move. (Previous posts tell about our move)

Back of the truck

Helen dressed Bear this time. Chris and Bob couldn't be with us due to a prior arrangement. I have been   too busy to find time for much blogging. I hope to catch up with you all when we settle into our new home.

A NEW HOME

If you read my last two posts you would know that we are selling our house and moving into a retirement village. This wasn't a simple decision but took weeks of deliberating. It looks like we have a buyer and we will be moving at the end of March. This is where we are going:

CHINESE NEW YEAR

We were invited to the Chinese New Year celebrations at Elements Lifestyle Living, the village where we hope to move to soon. It was a fun night, with the lion dance and delicious food. We met some of our future neighbours. Everyone was very friendly.
The lion tries to eat one of the party goers. The party was held in the Activities Hall. Friends and family were welcome especially grandchildren. They had a special area, fun, food and games.

The lions like to be fed a red donation envelope.

Bill feeds the lion but then the lion attacked him and gobbled his head.

 Bill thought it was funny.

The children enjoyed feeding the dancing lions.

 It was great entertainment.

I'm not sure of the significance of some of the actions. The lions had to reach up high to eat a suspended cabbage and here the lion presents a banner to another character. I guess I should research this. But I have packing to do.
