LUNCH WITH NEW FRIENDS

We went to lunch with new friends, Bob and Robyn, from our village. Dot also came but unfortunately, Peter, her husband was in hospital. Bob took us to a Restaurant we had never been to before called the Hunt and Scout. It was in the back yard of an old shop turned into a restaurant. It had an all weather roof but the walls were open to lovely tropical trees, which provided privacy and coolness. The menu was quite good too. I have forgotten the names of the dishes so you'll just have to work it out yourselves.

Lamb something.

Salmon something

Something pasta

Something pie

Bill loved the Hunt and Scout special sausages.

OCTOBER DINNER

It was our village monthly dinner again. We had a choice of Chicken Kofta with corn and vegetable potage or Lamb Kofta with cous cous and vegetable broth. Dessert was Orange Almond Cake with Chocolate Gnash. I had the lamb and Bill had the chicken and they were both delicious.
We also had a great guest speaker. He was Patrick Pickett, owner and conductor of Queensland's Pop Orchestra. He was tall and very funny making jokes about his size.

We are ready and waiting to be served but this night our highschool helpers couldn't come because it was their graduation night.

It is time to catch up with friends and make new ones.

Volunteers helped serve the meals. Ivy doesn't look happy but she really was concentrating.

Pozz the chef had one helper and our Managing Director, Chiou See helped too but she is getting into trouble for being late for work.

Dessert was delicious. I forgot to photograph the mains.

Chiou See and Patrick having fun with their sizes.

This wonderful group of residents organise the dinners every month.

More volunteers help clean and rinse the dishes before they go into the dishwasher.

FIVE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

The residents of our village organise a Happy Hour every Friday night. Everyone brings their own nibblies and drinks. When it is someone's birthday they often have a birthday cake too. Last Friday there were five birthdays to celebrate. Liz who turned eighty sent a message out saying don't bring any nibblies this week as she was going to provide a grazing board big enough for everyone.

She came first, she and I were both very proud.
