MORE SURPRISES.

Continuing our mystery tour. Each day Ann gives us a little envelope with the information on where we are going.  Yesterday Ann told us we were going to The Chinchilla Bed and Breakfast. However, we ended up at a mutual friend's house in Chinchilla and she was expecting us...da dah.. it was a surprise.
Judi, also worked at our school with the rest of us but has now moved to Chinchilla. She offered to put all of us up for the night in their big new house.

Another surprise. Later in the evening another friend turned up, who also worked with us some time ago.  Jo has also moved to Chinchilla unknown to us. She came over and helped Judi prepare dinner for all of us. Their husbands were also there and joined in the fun. It was so exciting meeting our old work buddies again.

The next day we drove on and on to Bunya Mts, another bucket list place for me. Ann has done such a lot of organising. We were to do some forest walks but it was raining so we had a lovely piping hot lunch. Then we drove a short distance to Maidenwell, where we stayed in a farm house.

George had to chop the wood for the fire.

Bear was very happy to stretch out on the sofa in front of the fire. We were to visit the local observatory after dark to look at the stars and moon but it was cloudy and rainy so we went to the local pub for dinner.

  1. Love the farmhouse and it is easy to see that bear has chosen the best spot in the house.
Lovely to see you have the opportunity to catch up with friends from a past life.

  3. You sure are having a wonderful trip. I love the Bunya Mountains ... we spent our wedding night there at the old guest house and went camping there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

  4. I am soo happy for you all to be having such an amazing trip and reunion! And, so grateful that yu are documenting this for all of us "arm-chair" travelers - I learn so much from you..seems so odd that you are building fires and having nice warm dinners and we are having the warmest day of the year so far - 95 degrees here in Utah!
Can wait to see where Bear lands next!

  5. How wonderful to meet up with old friends in new places. I have been trying to follow your trip on Google Maps. I like the name of the next village up the road from Chinchilla. Called Bread Board.

    Lovely cabin and wood stove.

    Goodnight, Bear.

  7. It's just wonderful to meet up with old friends, Diane. I'm sure you had a good time together.

Even when the weather doesn't cooperate, you all seemed to have a "Plan B" ready to put in action.

Glad you are having a good time.
    Hugs,
    Betsy
