A BIRTHDAY AND A NEW OUTFIT.

Today is Mary's birthday and Ann has dressed birthday bear in an outfit suitable for Mary. Bear has changed sex and is now a lovely lady who enjoys bushwalking. Ann snuck onto the balcony of Mary's cabin and left bear there for Mary early in the morning as a surprise.
So now bear is lovely and warm for the colder weather we may experience further into our mystery tour.

Naturally mary was surprised and pleased with her Birthday Bear present.

We were woken this morning to the laugh of the Kookaburras.

Then we went for a walk through the forest to the beach. Mary, Bill, Ann (tour guide) and George.

The beach at the town of 1770 (weird name I know) James Cook landed here in 1770 to replenish his supply of fresh water.

A fabulous view and winter's morning looking at the sea.

We celebrated Mary's birthday at a roadhouse on the way to our next destination...Cania Gorge. We have never been there before and it is exciting not knowing where we are going until the beginning of each day. Ann had even organised the roadhouse to produce a birthday cake.

  2. I love your header! Birthday Bear is just so fashionable today! I'm wondering where you ever found such a tiny backpack and clothes that fit him (excuse me, her) so perfectly. The pictures today are just so good. I have seen drawings of Kookaburras, but never a picture on anyone's blog! Were you able to get close, are they rather tame? and did you hear him make any noises or bird calls? We are birdwatchers and I have quite a few bird posts on my blog. Now you've got me thinking about bustards, which I think are extinct now, but I'm going to do some research.

  3. I love the idea of travelling to unknown destinations each day and enjoying it with friends - even small ones that change gender at will...lol.

Wonderful photos of the waves at 1770. I haven't been there but it's an intriging name, isn't it?

    Keep enjoying your trip.

  9. A fun surprise to find Birthday Bear in 'her' pretty new outfit. Super photos again Diane, such beautiful scenery, all happy and smiling faces, including the kookaburra. Is that bird adorable or what?

  10. Yipes, I just commented on one of your husband's blogs, thinking it was you! Then I had to tell him it was a mistake and I am not demented, just a confused 61 year old senior. I'm still trying to get the two of you straightened out. So you have two blogs and he has two? I have signed on to follow both of yours.

  11. Happy Birthday to Mary... Yes, Mrs. Birthday Bear is all dressed up for the special occasion.

    1770 is a strange name for a town--but I love their beach.

Love the Kookaburra.... I know an old camp song about that bird....

Hope you enjoyed the birthday dinner.
    Hugs,
    Betsy
