KAMLOOPS TO VANCOUVER ON THE ROCKY MOUNTAINEER

We had a nice rest at the hotel in Kamloops a country town in the middle of BC in a dry sheltered region between the Coastal Mts and the Rocky Mts. It is a popular town for sporting championships as it is central to all towns in BC.
Soon we were back on board the Rocky Mountaineer train to continue one of the best train journeys in the world.

We were enjoying it no end.

The train slowed down at points of interest so that we could take pictures. Here the river was red with spawning salmon.

We skirted along the edge of lakes.......

......and along the rivers.

All too soon we were in Vancouver at the end of the day.

These were the fantastic hostesses in our carriage who looked after our every need over the last two days, gave us commentary on interesting places and served us downstairs in the dining room. The one with the microphone was so good at her job that she won a trip to Australia.

  5. This was really a fabulous trip! I sent your blog URL to a few friends who I think would love to take the same voyage one day -- my husband and myself included! I've always wanted to see the Canadian Rockies and this train ride through them looks so enjoyable.

  11. I do trust that the red wine being "lovingly" sipped was the "Châteauneuf-du-Pape"?????
    Surely nothing less!!!!

Still a bit green - with all the tablets that I am taking, I now rattle as I walk!
    Cheers
