ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END

We have returned home to Queensland after spending two weeks over Christmas in Victoria with our daughter, Sonya and her in laws. On Boxing Day our other daughter, Carol-Ann and her husband, David flew from Brisbane to join us. They had already flown from Sydney to Brisbane to be with David's parents for Christmas Day.
It was wonderful to have our whole family in the one place even though it was only for a few days before we flew home to Brisbane, Sonya and family flew back to L.A. and Carol and David flew back to Sydney.

On our last day together we went to lunch at the Portsea Hotel situated close to the tip of Mornington Peninsula. The views from the hotel's garden restaurant was very pleasing. There was space for the children to play while we waited for lunch to be served. Banjo sees the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

Fox finds a friend who teaches him to climb a tree. He wasn't too sure about being up high.

Then it was time to eat. Banjo wants more spaghetti

After lunch its time for ice cream for good little boys.
He looks a bit sad but I think it was just a cold lump going down gave him that expression.

Our last meal all together for.... who knows how long. After lunch we drove back to Melbourne and the airport.

My girls.....how I love them! You can't get much bigger sunglasses.
But first some photos for the memories. My DSLR is in need of repair so all these photos were taken with my iPhone or Sony Cyber Shot point and shoot.

Carol-Ann and husband, David.

Our lovely daughters and charming sons in law.

Sonya and Bernie have just arrived back in LA. Carol and David are holidaying in Melbourne for a few more days and we are getting back into routine at home.

  6. Isn't it great that both families could share the time together rather than it being split between in laws.

You get to see the family rather a lot despite them being at a distance.

  9. What a wonderful family time this looks like! Your girls are just beautiful, and love that tearful shot of the little one with the cold lump going down his throat. HOpe you get your DSLR fixed soon. When mine had to be sent off, I ended up with a new camera as I could not stand being without my camera for 6 weeks. Happy New Year, and you have definitely started off with a wonderful holiday time!

  12. Well darn. And here I am in LA and I should have gone to visit them. After all, I feel like a relative even if I'm not. It's been very hot here except for the nights. My favorite thing while I was here was whale watching. Going back to Phoenix tonight. *sigh*

  28. How wonderful to gather family from all corners to share some time together at Christmas. That's what it's all about, isn't it? And what a perfect venue the Mornington Peninsula makes - such a delightful part of the world. Your post and pictures remind me I really must return.
