GOODBYE ALBANY

On the last afternoon of our stay in Albany, Western Australia..........
I visited Natural Arch, where the sea has eroded a natural bridge out of the rocks.

The coastline here was rugged and majestic.

Then our tour guide took us to see a wind farm but it was difficult to photograph into the sun.

However the wildflowers nearby were beautiful and too many to include all here.

Here are some of the little gems.

The next morning we were in the bus waving goodbye to Albany and looking forward to our next destination.

  1. What a beautiful coastline (I love rugged!) and the flowers are spectacular. Are you sure you didn't visit the Namaqualand recently to get these beauties? lol! Your photography is brilliant too, Diane. I still struggle even with a better camera. *Sigh*

  4. I like the big cracks in the rocks. Did you find yourself recognising the same flowers in all the different places you visited?

  11. The smoothed edges of these huge boulders are most impressive - great photos of a wonderful adventure!

  12. Heck! Imagine how cold it would be in a 'roaring forties' blast in winter coming across the Indian Ocean whilst standing on those rocks.
Certainly not my idea of fun - Brrrrrr!
    Great blog report Diane

  17. It's easy for me to get confused on this trip of yours. WA stands (here) for Washington State, which we just left. Albany is a small town near where we stay in Oregon (and near where the house we sold back in our other life). And natural arches are seen (as you know) in national parks in our Southwest.

But once I get adjusted to where I am (actually that's a problem in my *real* as well as *virtual* life), then I can begin to enjoy your beautiful pictures! you had a great trip -- tx for sharing it.

  18. Marvellous scenes again, Diane. The veld (bush) flowers are so similar to those we see here. I think your wind farm picture turned out very well :)
