Our Birthday Bear Group celebrated Ann's 70 birthday at Donini's Restaurant in Whishart. It was nice to welcome Karen again to our group. Karen also taught with us at Kuraby School, she is still teaching but at a different school. She is great company and we enjoy it when she can join us oldies.
From L to R: Karen, me, Mary, Ann, Bill, George, Paul and Helen. |
Birthday Bear was sitting at the next table.
Birthday Bear was dressed in a smock ready to decorate the house as this is what Ann has been doing recently. So Bear has the paint charts, rollers and how to instructions. She also has curtain materials ready to go. There are plenty of sales brochures to help her decide where to pick up a bargain.
Mary was the clever one who dressed Birthday Bear this time and Ann is happy to have Bear help with the decorating.
Karen has been to Europe for a holiday since she last joined us and she was kind enough to bring back a souvenir for each of us.
Bill was very, very happy with Karen's gift from France. It is his favourite wine, Chateauneuf DuPape. He shared it with all of us and it is a nice drop.
William!
ReplyDeleteDidn't I hear that you drank more of this exotic vintage than the whole rest of this party???????
Hmmmmmmmm! One does but wonder?
It is such a great idea. Delicate, but I guess you can still celebrate the departed's birthday until it is is last person standing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great party and clever Mary for putting Decorator Bear together. In one of the apartments we stayed at in France we were left a bottle of Chateau Neuf DePape wine .... a very nice wine - so I can understand how Bill would have been very pleased with his gift.
ReplyDeleteHaha! When it's my blogoversary I'll expect BB to be dressed in RED!!! I guess as long as that doesn't clash with one of your group's birthdays!!!
ReplyDeleteDiane, sounds like another great birthday bear party. Birthday bear is all set to help paint. The wine sounds yummy. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteit continues to amaze me at each birthday how creative you can all be when dressing the bear. woo hoo on the gift from france
ReplyDeleteI see fun in these pics! Birthday Bear tradition, I have not heard of
ReplyDeleteBill looks very happy - I think that LC has loved that wine a few times too!
ReplyDeleteAll of you bear dressers are so creative! The wine sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Ann! I marvel every time I read about your Birthday Bear Birthday parties and the creativity of the dressers. Each on is so special and obviously depicts the birthday lad or lass perfectly. Hope you're having a great day. Greetings, Jo
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing what your friends come up with next for Birthday Bear. And I'm thinking Bill was very generous to share his bottle of wine.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great get together. Just looking at your temperatures, I am jealous! Have a good weekend Diane
ReplyDeleteAnother great birthday gathering with the most well-dressed bear I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Thanks for stopping by my Dad's tribute post Diane. x Neesy ;)
ReplyDeleteWe also like a good bottle of Chateau Neuf dePape.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
Did Birthday Bear share a drop as well? Great party Diane, you & Bill are both looking well & happy! Bill because he's holding the Neuf DePape of course!
ReplyDeleteWishing Ann a very happy birthday - she looks really pleased. Such a lovely gathering and, of course, Birthday Bear has another starring role! Well done :D)
ReplyDeleteSO glad that the Victorian spring racing carnival almost over, with just tomorrow's Sandown meet to go to close it out.
ReplyDeleteRacing is riddled with shonks and crooks of all sorts ... trainer Les Samba was gunned down in Melbourne last year, his son-in-law Danny Nikolic has been suspended altho' an appeal by him against the severity of the sentence hasn't been completed [I think] while Melb Cup-winning jockey D. Oliver is under scrutiny for betting on a horse which ultimately won --- and he was riding in the same race !!!
Why do I write I'm glad it's over? So that old PNG colleague HuggiBear Huggins can keep his precious $$$$ securely trousered, or at least securely stashed away in his bank account.
Not being outlaid on unsafe and unsteady conveyances .... racehorses.
And Col --- just becoz there's a holiday for Bendigo Cup Day in central Victoria, doesn't mean we ACTUALLY attend the races. Heaven forbid.
We use the free day for more praiseworthy pursuits. Gardening, house and fence painting. Urban renewal!!
I wonder if we could get Birthday Bear to help us with some projects around our house. He's certainly well prepared. Mary did a great job with Birthday Bear for this celebration.
ReplyDeleteHI Diane, I always enjoy reading about the Birthday Bear parties... There are lots of creative people in your group since Birthday Bear is always decorated so well....
ReplyDeleteBill looked like he really ENJOYED that wine..... Did you have to drive home???? ha ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh, I love Birthday Bear! He looks very efficient with all his decorating paraphernalia. I have a group that meets often, as you all seem to do. It's a wonderful thing to be surrounded by good friends.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely birthday bear party...if only that bear could talk :)
ReplyDeleteI too am amazed at the creativity you all keep coming up with. The curtain material was a brilliant addition. Happy Belated Birthday to Ann! Applause for Mary! Cheers to Bill!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun you have - getting together with old friends is always a treat. The best thing about old friends is that they never seem to change - no matter how many birthdays they've had.
ReplyDeleteThat's again a nice outfit for Birthday bear ! I see that Bill hadn't opened the bottle yet, his nose is not yet red !
ReplyDeletelove this post, so much fun and happy faces to see.
