I haven't posted for a while. My recovery didn't go as well as expected and I have been laid up with unexpected pain. However, it is improving now. For the first two weeks things were as expected and I started participating in activities again. We even got to the monthly dinner, which had a 'Black and White" theme. We had to dress in black and white and the meal had a black and white component. Our guest speaker was funny and interesting. He was a local poet, Rupert McCall, who we had listened to on the radio some years ago.
My neighbours and friends including my cleaner gave me flowers after my operation to cheer me.At dinner, most residents wore black and white. Ann our dinner coordinator outlines the night's proceedings.

The sciatica in my right leg had gone but now pain started in my left leg and back. I had to have another MRI and I return to the surgeon on 6 June. In the meantime the pain has started to ease. Thank goodness, I'm starting to feel human again.
Black and white outfits look very handsome, even if you don't own a full blown tuxedo. All the participants look as if they have made an effort to look smart.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that your pain came back ! It looked so good. I don't know what MRI is, if you have to return to the surgeon on Thursday, I hope it's not another operation, or just a check up, as you have less pain.
ReplyDeleteHere it is unusually cold and always raining. Not so good for the mood !
I forgot to mention the black & white dinner. Very fashionable colors, the younger generation has their furniture all in black, white and grey ! It doesn't bother me when they add colorful accessories. I hope the black & white food was good, I only see burnt meat black !
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know you are recovering.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear the pain that came back is now easing.. and that you got to go to the black and white. I have tons of black and white and in fact it is about all I wear.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are beginning to feel human again. Pain truly is a pain!
ReplyDeleteI hope your MRI will turn out okay for you and you are going to be as good as new.
The activities where you live are so wonderful. Everyone looks so refined in their black and white..how fun!!
Sending you hugs of healing..(((hugs)))

C'mon - get better soon.
ReplyDeleteTry and relive/recall you hockey days!
Not real sure about the snow skiing days at Falls Creek!
Cheers

On my Diane, hope all goes well on June 6, tomorrow. Getting old sure isn't fun at times.
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks nice in their black and white.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteThe Black and White dinner looks fun!
I am sorry you are still in pain,
Sending healing prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery.
Take care, have a great day!
Diane, it was nice to read an updated post, but unfortunate about the continued discomfort, which hopefully will ease in time. The flowers you received are lovely and I am sure cheered you as you could not go for your walks. The black and white dinner theme sounded interesting and I was curious as to what foods were served in keeping with it. Wishing you good news on your future appointment.
ReplyDeleteAll the very best for tomorrow, Diane. You have described a delightful evening spent at your monthly dinner.
ReplyDeleteYou have had a rough time. Hope the next doctor visit will bring relief for pain in right leg.
ReplyDeleteYour monthly dinners are always so interesting.
It's just going to take time to feel better...I'm SO sorry you are still having pain.
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks very classy!
hugs
Donna
Fingers crossed on best and quick results on your return to the surgery (today?).... the B&W dinner crowd looks amazing -- It's a nice theme since even those who like a casual style (raising my hand) could dress it up fairly easily with what's already in the closet.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers you received look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to read that you have still experienced pain/discomfort.
I do hope that it will ease for you and your appointment on 6th June goes/went well.
Sending my good wishes.
All the best Jan
So sorry you have been unwell. Take care xx I love the black and white theme and just a night I like with a poet performing
