Saturday night was a great night for me.
My team won the Asian Cup
My party looks like winning the Queensland State election
The Australian National Team, The Socceroos have won the Asian Cup in Football for the first time.
Anastasia Palaczszuk is likely to be our new premier.
Our new premier probably has Polish roots . Her surname is typically Polish or Russian
ReplyDeleteYes her grandparents were Polish.
DeleteGreat night indeed!
ReplyDeleteHurray, a good night for you!
ReplyDeleteI know you are excited over the win, i can tell and feel your happiness. she looks like a good PM just from looking at her
ReplyDeleteWell - good to see "the Meerkat" go but have this mob
ReplyDeletelearnt from their previous - only 3 years ago - stint in government??
Don't take the electorate for granted - we are not "billy goats".
I am happy with you on the two events - rather monumental both of
them!!!
Cheers
Colin
Both parties need to heed that.
DeleteDiane: 100 % correct.

WooHoo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great name for your National Team. They sure are a happy group!
ReplyDeleteYes it was a great night
ReplyDeleteI suppose you are familiar enough with the pronunciation of premier in waiting but I will have to hear it a couple more times. I was nearly as excited to see Newman lose as our Kennett so many years ago.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on both wins.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Australia!!! Congratulations on all counts :)
ReplyDeleteEverything usually comes in threes so I wonder what the next surprise has in store for you.
ReplyDeleteFun 60, hopefully the third one will be when our federal government replaces our prime minister who still lives in the 1950s and that is most likely going to happen within the next six month. If not, it WILL happen at the next federal election as this man is no longer electable.
DeleteHello Diane, congrats on both wins... It was a great night! Have a happy new week!
ReplyDeleteWas a very interesting night indeed, I watch the election on ABC 24/7 and it looks as if it could be a hung parliament, but we have to wait and see. Don't follow the soccer, and me being me didn't even know that game was on.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the win in football. That team REALLY does look happy!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe new Premier looks like a beautiful woman. Hope you are happy with her win... Bet you are!!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Haven't caught the soccer - sorry football! - bug yet but agree on the potential state election outcome.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sport I never watch not even the World Cup. Nobody in my family is interested in football not even the men ! We must be exceptions !
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your soccer team! I know how exciting a championship win can be.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your country getting a woman as pPemier. I hope to live long enough to see the US get a woman President!
Life is good in Queensland. I second what Pat says above. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations !!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to say it was a good night on both fronts!
ReplyDeleteAs the result stabilised yet - not much news from Q'land in Victoria!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Still no result yet. May be a by election in Ferny Grove as the PUP candidate was ineligible to stand due to being a bankrupt.
DeleteI know, it was pretty exciting Diane.. the Socceroos I mean, not sure how exciting the other was for you?
