Pretty duck.

Hello Diane, wonderful collection of birds and photos.. I love the Moohen and the ducklings.. The waterlily is gorgeous.. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteWell captured Diane. Lovely array of birds there.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and so "summer"! LOL Those babies are always so busy it is hard to capture them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely walk you had Diane, birds and reflections work so well together.
ReplyDeleteAn evening stroll around a lake sounds idyllic and water-birds make excellent subjects to photograph. "Moor Hen" is actually a Purple Swamphen but I don't suppose it minds what you call it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, Diane. I love the intensity of the blues.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous wetland birds! Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteDiane. all photos are fantastic but the last is my favourite..
ReplyDeletethese are Awesome! i love the way the light puts Blue highlights. goregous pics..
ReplyDeleteOh wow, just look at that beautiful duck. The ducklings are so cute too. We have very similar pond lilies here in Mwadui. Thanks for sharing these beautiful images. Greetings Jo

Well Diane, your photographs are magnificent! The motion and reflections captured in the water are so beautiful. Loved seeing all the family action going on too, a beautiful post :D)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos The first one loos a bit looks a bit like our pukeko. love the heron and that water lily is just gorgous
ReplyDeletePhotos not taken on your point and shoot. I used to call the first bird a Moor Hen until Red Nomad corrected me to Purple Swamp Hen. I suspect there is a reason why we both made the same 'error'.
ReplyDeletelovely ducks and water fowl! so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWished I could do the same walk ! Beautiful pictures ! I think the Belgian ducks also have enough of the rain !
ReplyDeleteDiane, that would be a great finish to the day, so pretty and serene
ReplyDeletePretty birds , looks so tranquil there. The lighting seems perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty
ReplyDeleteA lovely place to walk! I'm guessing you may still be warming up from your cold weather adventure over here in what definitely wasn't the sunny south!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane for showing us these beautiful feathered friends!!!
ReplyDeleteYou last shot reminded me that we used to have a water lily in our pond. I remember it used to flower in January, I would watch the bud but always had a work trip to America at that time of year and it was finished by the time I came back. We don't have it any more ... I must plant another one and see if it will survive and flower. I find the conditions in the garden change as plants grow bigger etc, changing the amount of sunlight.
ReplyDeleteSome great shots here, I find ducks always turn their backs on me!!! Keep well t'other Diane
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of summer! I guess the ducklings were having way too much fun to stop and pose for the camera! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe first bird, the
ReplyDelete(Stupid ipad) the Purple hen looks interesting- I don't think I've seen one of those before? Lovey shots as always. Xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of birds! Belated happy Australia Day. We just watched the movie "Tracks" today and really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to live so closed to all this wonderful nature. I especially enjoy birds (like my Dad!) so envy the diversity you have on your doorstep.
ReplyDeleteWater flowers and fowl are so pretty and peaceful to look at, Diane. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I had this much bird-life at my local ponds Diane, these birds are lovely - aren't the chicks gorgeous?
