NEWS FROM L A

Some of my readers have asked me to let them know when our SIL, Bernard Curry, got a role in a  TV show or movie. When he and his family returned to LA from Sydney a month ago he scored two parts within the first week back. So that was heartening news for everyone and we hope this is the start of many more.

He was very excited to get a guest role in the TV crime series "NCIS", which I had never heard of but many friends have told me they enjoy watching it and it is quite popular.
He also has a part in, "Pretty Little Liars", another I haven't heard about.

Before he left LA to host "Beauty and the Geek, Australia", he got a role in a pilot  called "Bounce". When he returned to LA he was told that the show is going ahead so all in all things are looking good for him.

 Bernie the actor.

Fox, our gorgeous grandsons. (not at all biased)

One of the sidelines of being married to an actor and living in LA is that our daughter gets to know some famous people like...
Sonya and Ryan Gosling.

  12. You can likely look up those shows and perhaps watch them online. Many of the networks stream their tv series. No wonder you are proud of your grandsons - they are such cute little fellas!

  13. Great news Diane.
I have never watched NCIS, so cannot comment. But I rarely, if ever, watch any US citcoms or whatever the name for them is. As for "Pretty Little Liars" - I am sure I have never seen it programed here. Maybe it is a modern version of "The Bold and the Beautiful" - ha ha!
As for Ryan Gosling??? Who on earth is he? I hope not the result of a Wayne "Goose" Swan dalliance?
Still small acorns do grow into large oaks, so who knows where all this may end. Good luck to Bernie. If you never try, then you will never succeed, will you?
    Great report Diane.
    Colin

  15. RYAN Gosling is a reasonably well-known U.S actor, I would have thought.
As quite a number of you lot are ex and maybe some still serving chalkies you should look out for him in Half Nelson.

He's a troubled high school teacher who does drugs. A 13 or 14-year-old black American student of his finds him collapsed in a school toilet after a tad too much of his favourite substance.
She looks out for him from then on.

Ryan Gosling no relation, Colin, of the World's Greatest Treasurer, Wayne Swan. You BananaBenders now have to cope with teeny little Tory Cameron Whatshisface as he slashes TAFE and education jobs willy-nilly.

Don't worry about all those pre-election promises !!

  19. Diane, you forgot to mention that Bernie has also scored a recurring role in a new US television series BOUNCE, which stars former TV Superman Dean Cain.

  21. I know the NCIS series very well (honnestly too bloody for me) they are even translated into other languages ! It's a quiet famous series in European countries. Congratulations ! Good news !Your grandsons are real cuties !

  22. That's fantastic news and I'm glad the move to LA is paying off for them. There has to be a benefit to make it worth being so far from family. They're a good-looking bunch, all of them!

  23. RYAN Gosling also starred in the 2011 Geo. Clooney movie: The Ides Of March.
Clooney played Democrat Governor Mike Morris, running for his party's nomination for president of the U.S.A.
Gosling was his driven, very ambitious chief of staff or deputy chief of staff. Plot had a lot of twists and turns as the Clooney character tried to outwit his State's senior Senator, also running for the nod to stand for President.

Gosling, by the way, received a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his 2006 role as the troubled teacher in Half Nelson.

  26. Me again... be sure to let us know when the episodes he is in go on air. I don't watch much tv, but will make sure I do for your SIL.
Yes, Ryan Gosling is a very well known actor. I didn't think there was a woman left on this planet that didn't know who he was.. Hey Girl and all that. But some of your commenters are men, so that explains it. ;-)
