ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW TO LEARN

For some time I have been going to investigate HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography but kept putting it off until I read MTWaggin Blog and she inspired me to get learning and have a go. So I grabbed my camera and went for an afternoon walk in winter to our local little lake. Here is my first effort at HDR.

Dennis Lake, Daisy Hill, Qld.

Its a start but I have lots to learn yet.

  3. Diane, I know what you mean by HDR. Never done it myself, but you have been fiddling, and photos do look different.

  7. Diane, I like the photos! I think this way the photos are more "alive", perhaps more depth to them. I am not that far into photography, but I guess it can grow to want to know more!

  8. HI Diane, I'm finally back and following you! I have looked at MTWaggin's blog and swing between her photos and yours still trying to get my head around the concept. I trust it will come to me in time, as I love new ideas in photography. Your photos are very good.

  9. Kudos to you for giving this a go. I'm still in two minds about it, it looks great on some subjects but weird on others. I think these have come off pretty well.

  13. I love trying out new concepts Diane ... especially if it improves the end results on scenes where part of the pic is a bit washed out Sounds like something I must try

  14. Hmmmm! Lovely photos of the Lake etc. Seems that HDR is not well known from the comments. I can't see any difference. All your photos are excellent.
I suppose "Grosvati" is on cloud 9 with the 7th Wimbledon crown of the FedExpress? This is the first year that I have not got up to watch even one
match live. I think it is called - AGE!!!
Cheers and great "HDR" (???) photos

  22. I'm impressed that you are learning to shoot HDR images. I haven't tried HDR, but I thank you for the link to the tutorial. One of these days I may give it a try.

  23. HDR is something I haven't tried but wanted to. I learn best when someone shows me rather than reading but will give the link a look-see.
    Love that reflection shot!
