SUMMER RAINS

In Queensland we get our rain in the summer months. It is then that the dried up earth and shrivelled up plants of the dry winter months suddenly burst into life again.  Everything turns green and colourful and the weeds go berserk. For those suffering drab winter days, here is some hot, wet colour  from my garden.

  1. You are so lucky to get rain through summer Diane, we're parched over here. Your garden looks so lush and gorgeous, a real tropical garden.

  7. Ahhhhh, I needed that!. These are beautiful shots, Diane. I especially love the first one. It is dull gray and brown in my 'neck of the woods', but I'm not complaining, because we have had an especially mild winter with very little snow and ice to worry about slipping on and shoveling.

  9. The color from your garden is beautiful. I only wish you could send us some of that rain -- we've had a dry spell lately.

  10. Very nice. I am a little surprised to see plants I would not have thought would tolerate humidity very well.

  13. So like my life in South Africa. Our garden looked dead over the dry winter months then suddenly the rains arrived and the place was a picture. These photos have cheered me up no end, there is little colour in our garden at present but new buds give hope of spring on the way. Take care t'other Diane

  14. Beautiful bursts of color! All I am seeing right now is yellow grass and bare limbs. Although my new Japanese magnolia is blooming, so that's exciting.

  15. Absolutely gorgeous... I love seeing COLOR---especially when we are experiencing a drab winter here... That makes spring and summer look so much more inviting.... Glad you are getting lots of rain... The plants and flowers love them I'm sure.
    Hugs,

  17. Colorful ... And some of those plants are blooming right now here in Florida, . It's different here. Summer is the rainy season here too ... We try to take advantage of all the rain does, without actually being present for it.
