OUT FOR A WALK

Sick of staying home and staying safe we decided on a walk in Underwood Park instead of around the village. I still walk in the forest early in the morning but I try to get you know who on his feet in the afternoons. It was a beautiful afternoon stroll around the lagoon. It was very peaceful and calming getting away from covid and war news. Come with us.

"Well done! Isn't this nicer than sitting in front of your computer?"
"NO!"

I should be jogging to lose some of that fat.

A Water Dragon. I was amazed that the lily pads could take its weight. It was fun watching him scoot across the leaves.

Another one came to say goodbye as we left for the car park.

  1. Stunning photos, even if the subject of one is dubious. Very nice reflections too. I don't think we have water dragons here. I've only seen one in the wild, in the Blue Mountains and I was quite excited.

  2. An interesting place to walk, and nice weather for the job too. Very rainy and chilly in England this morning.

  5. I love love the water dragon. that board walk is gorgeous in the sunshine. my biggest fault in my excericse is I do nothing in the latter half of the day. all mine is from 4 am to 1 pm. doctor said to add and evening walk, but it doesn't fit with early to bed,

  8. That's a beautiful place to walk through (except that you made poor Bill suffer) Rick also prefered to stay behind his computer and there was NOTHING to get him out into the fresh air ! I think we are all free now, because I don't hear anything about Covid variations since Putin invaded the Ukraine. I wished we could put all the viruses in a canon and shoot it over on his and his soldiers head ! Then they have to go to hospital and not to the Ukraine ! I missed my vocation to be a politician !

  9. Must have been a windless day to make those beautiful reflections on the water. I get excited over our little anoles — I’d be over the moon to spot one of your lizards!

  11. You certainly had a nice walk and that boardwalk is great, Diane. Glad you persuaded Bill to join you (he may thank you). We just had an 8-inch snowfall here in Nashua, NH, yesterday (Friday) and seeing these photos gives me hope for nicer weather to come in the weeks ahead. Of course, when our nicer weather arrives, yours may not be as nice.

Beautiful walkways with interesting plants and that "dragon" is terrific.

  13. What a beautiful area to walk in, Diane. I feel like a slug and have also gained weight as we have not been as active as usual between high covid numbers and snow and cold weather. Hope to get back at it when spring arrives here. The water dragon is cool!

  14. There is a LOT in this post that reminds me of Florida. The sunshine, the subtropical greenery, the boardwalk, the prehistoric water creatures, and ... I bet you could guess the last one. (Someone here has the same name and same attitude toward "nice walks." )))

  15. What a pretty area, complete with water lilies. I agree Diane, too much sitting isn't good for us.
