THE SAD DAY ARRIVES

I knew this day would eventually be on us. It was time to say goodbye to our daughter and son-in-law. After being in Brisbane for six weeks going between us and David's parents, it was time for them to head home. However, they are going to take their time and stay for a few days in Gyra and Bellingen on the way. They have loved travelling in the country for the last twelve months and they are not looking forward to returning to the bustling, Covid ridden Sydney.

They had lots to pack. Besides food and clothes, they have painting gear, David's mobile studio for composing, their cycling gear and "the kitchen sink". Carol is the master packer and David is the carrier.

Bye, Bye, sniffle, sniffle. Hope to see you again before another year passes. Love you to bits.

  1. So much to pack, amazing how they got it all in!
Amid all the border closings, etc, etc they were still lucky to be able to travel and visit you.
I can't wait to have our borders open up in WA, but of course we will be flooded with the virus, but we can't be closed up forever!!

  2. Master packer is the right description. Always sad to say goodbye to the family. Talking of family I will look out for those addresses you mentioned when I visit the next underground station this week.

  4. It's always sad to say goodbye or so long to our loved ones. I hope they have a safe and pleasant drive home and they can transition well back to the hustle and bustle.

  5. Hello
I am sure you will miss your daughter and SIL. Carol is a great packer. I hope you all stay safe from Covid! Have a great day and a happy new week!!

  6. I laughed at the time lapse movie. It was a pretty slick operation actually. Carol's obviously done it before! Omicron has even galloped through our tiny and previously almost Covid free Island (of Lewis) but the 'advantage' is that few people are getting very ill with it and those few in hospital are either unvaccinated or have other underlying health issues.

  10. I know it was sad when your children had to leave, but since they love traveling (and are obviously good at it) hopefully they will soon be back.

  11. Send that girl over here to our house next time we go somewhere will you? I love to go, but I hate to pack. Seriously, their car looks like she measured everything and knew exactly where it all went. I am impressed. (But more importantly, I do understand how you feel about their leaving.)

  12. It’s always too quiet when the kids leaves and even more so when the grandboys leave! They look like experienced packers, as well they should be after a year on the road!

All good things come to an end, as do all bad things, just saying

  17. Saying goodbyes is always hard for all, but what a wonderful visit you had with your daughter and SIL. They really did have a lot of packing up to do and the time-lapse video was fun. Once they are back home, unpacking will be another joy!
