On my walk home through the forest the other day, I saw that the teddy bear had gone from his tree stump. I wonder where? Maybe he has gone on a picnic because our country is starting to ease restrictions. We are allowed to go on picnics in family groups.
The teddy bear that sat on this stump for many days has now disappeared.
I started to notice all the different types of eucalyptus trees we have. They have different types of bark.
I'm not good with botanical names but we call this one a "Spotted Gum".
This one is an Iron Bark.
I don't know the names of these but I like the different patterns and textures.
I love the forest and especially ones with nice trails. I didn't realize you had so many varieties of eucalyptus. I love to burn eucalyptus essential oil in my diffuser. Have a wonderful weekend Diane. I hope someone finds and replaces the bear.
ReplyDeleteA teddy bears picnic is where that teddy is gone.
ReplyDeleteThe tree trucks do look nice, and yet they all look similar especially the leaves when travelling along the road.
Glad you can have a picnic now - we not yet, but soon.
The bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain….
ReplyDeleteI used to love our eucalyptus trees in Southern Africa, I miss them here. I did see one out walking the other day with similar bark and leaf, but when I crushed the leaf there was no perfume at all so I am none the wiser. Please stay safe despite being allowed to do more. T'other Diane
ReplyDeleteDo you have koalas in those woods?
ReplyDeleteYes we do but less and less every year.
DeleteBear has gone bush. Our Eucalyptus trees are ever fascinating.
ReplyDeleteso many pretty trees, a wonderful place to walk. glad you are allowed to enjoy outings once again. they are opening a lot of Flordia this coming Monday
ReplyDeleteLOVE the header. really love it
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that some of the restrictions have been lifted for you and that family picnics are now allowed. We, too, are beginning to have some restrictions lifted, although it will be a while before things are back to normal -- if they ever get back there.
ReplyDeleteHello, it is nice to walk in the forest. Love the trees and photos. A picnic with the family sounds great right now! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteInteresting how varied the bark is on different eucalyptus species. I love to look at the bark patterns on trees. And I’ve taken lots of photos of the ones that fascinate me! I hope that bear went to a good home!
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting post with heaps of cool photos
ReplyDeleteI tried hard to learn about eucalyptus trees once ... gave up as there are too many and the differences not always clear. I too like photographing their bark, especially after rain which brings out the colours. Picnics are on in NSW too in one weeks time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the bear also went on a hike or perhaps a picnic now that some restrictions may be easing? All fun aside, glad you are able to get out and explore your favorite forest again, Diane. The eucalyptus bark is interesting to see.
ReplyDeleteThe bear probably found his owner again..... Interesting trees you have overthere.
ReplyDeletePerhaps he went back to his family.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a walk through a forest. We see so many interesting things and thank you for sharing the sights on your walk. Looks very lush and green.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a teddy bear picnic Diane 😊 We certainly do have some unique and beautiful trees 🌲
ReplyDeleteLove the bear hunt thing. You see them everywhere here. Some get dressed up everyday. The bear might have found a new friend :) Beautiful these trees I have never seen spotted gum before but I love that one.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful forest to walk. Hope it is close to you.
There’s a children’s song called “The Teddy Bears Picnic”. ... just look for a big group of them, yours will be there socializing at a safe distance I’m sure. Pandemic walks really do give us a good reason to stop to appreciate the small beautiful bits of nature that we might miss if we had anywhere else to go at all )).
ReplyDeleteSounds like Teddy has gone to a new spot to surprise another walker :D)
ReplyDeleteLovely to see all those beautiful trees Diane... I also love to look at the different barks on them, such a variety and lovely textures. Cheers and enjoy more of your walks xx
I do like your header photograph...
ReplyDeleteA very nice walk, lovely to see the trees.
All the best Jan
