MORNING WALK

I miss my walking buddies of a morning but we are not to walk in a group of four so we go by ourselves now. Sometimes I meet up with one of them and that's okay as long as we stay apart. The good thing about it is I can stop whenever I like to take photos. Trouble is I only carry my phone when walking so the shots are not the best. Here are a few things I see on the way.

One of the hills

A billabong

What's this? A bear in the forest.

A line of hairy caterpillars crawling across the track. The picnic area is drying out again.

  1. Yes, I take my I-Phone with me at walks too, it feels much more comfortable without carrying a camera. At least you find something interesting to make a photo. I am feeling I am going a bit out of inspiration to find subjects for the blog in this crazy times we are living in now.

Hopefully soon you will have a companion to walk with.

  3. Hello, looks like a nice walk. I love the shot of the sunlight through the trees. The bear is a cute find, was it left my your friends? I assume a billabong is a creek? Pretty scenes and photos. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy week ahead.

  4. It was nice to see the photos, Diane, and read that you are getting out on your favorite forest walks again. The phone photos are not so bad these days and I always have mine with me just in case, more so than the camera. That said we are planning a nature walk this week and I will take along a camera to capture what we see along the way and then also share online.

  5. Did you put that bear there? So a billabong is a swamp like area?

  6. It looks like a good peaceful walk ! The wood is pretty. We are allowed to walk by two with the 1.50m distance. Next week it will get warmer again !

  7. The caterpillar conga interested me particularly. I was wondering which of the processional caterpillars they were. I know that the ones that eat Wattle trees process from one to another when they have stripped one bare. One of the butterflies does to go to its pupating site but I'm not sure which one.

  12. Just typed a whole comment and it simply vanished!!!!
I will be delighted when 11 May arrives and we will be allowed to walk beyond our 1 km radius and without a permit. It has got a little uninteresting walking the one and only available loop for the last 49 days!
I love your shot of the sun through the trees.
Stay safe and keep well Diane

  17. Fascinating line of the crawly critters...I'm glad you still get out and walk, even if it is sometimes alone.
Hubby and I walk our neighborhood. Going from sedentary people to finally getting our walk up to a mile is so good for us Oldies but Goodies. Pushing onward !!!

  19. Well, that is the best kind of bear to come across in the woods! I think many people are realizing the value of natural places during the pandemic. Maybe they will care more about preserving them when this is all over. I hope so!

  21. Be careful with catarpilars, they are very urticating!

  23. Thanks for taking us on your walk. The photos are lovely. I noticed in a couple of your previous posts that there were bears and stuffed animals in some of the trees. Did someone randomly do that, or is it a planned theme fpr that path?
