VISITING FAMILY FAR AWAY

We had smooth uneventful 13 hour flight from Brisbane to LA. Bernie, our son in law picked us up at 6:30 and we arrived at their house just as the boys were finishing breakfast. They were very excited to see us just as we were to see them and especially our daughter, Sonya. Luckily, Sonya didn't have to go to work so we had a nice day catching up as well as a few hours sleep to get over jetlag.

In the afternoon we went to a park to see the ducks and turtles. On the way home we called into the bar where ' Bernie and the Budgie Smugglers' were  entertaining the guests.

The next day Sonya had to work and Bernie Had an audition so we were on baby sitting duty. When Bernie came home he looked after Banjo while we took Fox to the movies. These are all new experiences for us distant grandparents.

Banjo playing cars and stopping for a think.
Banjo chatting up the barmaid while waiting for Papa to finish playing in the band.

Granddad and Fox computer nerds.

We arrived at breakfast time. Mummy and the boys. I wish that I could take them home with me.
(Still trying to blog on my iPad grrrr)

  2. Your little guys have grown since we last saw them! Glad your flight was good and you are enjoying family time. I know you are cruising on the Mississippi at some point. What is the farthest north you will go?

  19. The boys are adorable! I started at the end of your trip so now I know you've made it home safely. It's quite the flight to travel between countries, I can relate to the jet lag.

    Wishing you a wonderful week!
