MY BOOK IS OUT!

FRESHLY BAKED ROLLS WITH LASHINGS OF BUTTER by diane bohlen | Make Your Own Book

This is the story of a family in post war London deciding to make a new life for themselves in Australia as 'ten pound poms' in 1949. It describes their joy, their disappointment, and their struggle to survive in a new country. From the joy of eating freshly baked rolls for the first time in years, to the worry of not having anywhere to live and starting their new life living in a tent on the outskirts of Sydney.

Many bloggers were interested in 'My Story' and encouraged me to put it into a book. Well after many trials I have finally finished the first part of my story. It is available at BLURB if you are interested. Just click on the shopping trolly. The above is a sample only of what is inside, it is not the whole book.

  7. Oh how neat, Diane... What a wonderful way to get your story written.. It needed to be told so that people in the future in your family can read it and know what happened. Great idea.

I had never heard of Blurb. com ---but will recommend it to another blog friend who is interesting in publishing some things.

    Thanks and CONGRATS.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

I hoped you would take the "plunge".
But I can't see anything yet?
How do I endeavour to view?
    Cheers and all the best.

  9. Wonderful book, I have used Blurb too for holliday books. The results are very good. I watched them many times and it is easy to show people the photos. It is a lot of work but the result is very satisfactory.

  16. I've never heard of "Blurb" Diane ... must click over & take a look. What a great idea to put your life-story in print ... sort of like an autobiography.

  17. Wow ! Congratulations, that was an excellent idea ! I remember how much I liked reading about your parents emigration to Australia. As soon as I am home again, will look at the book, I can't see very well on my little computer ! I too want to make a book out of my childhood memories and am working on it.
