Back on 16 Sept Carol and I were spending our last day in LA with Sonya and her family. Sonya didn't have to start work until later in the day and our plane didn't leave until midnight so we had time for a little excursion. Sonya took us up to the Griffith Observatory which is situated on Mt Hollywood.
to build the observatory which opened in1935.
There were great 360° views. It was also a very hot day.
The Observatory is situated in more than 3,000 acres of parkland donated by Griffith. He also donated the fundsto build the observatory which opened in1935.

Time for one more cuddle before we leave for Australia. Little did I know that I would be back there soon. I leave again next week to help out while Bernie is away filming in New Orleans and Sonya is working on a production at UCLA.
You do have two beautiful daughters and two handsome grandsons. Great that you are going back so soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely family photos. My goodness off again, I do know you will enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOh, it must be a lucrative contract in NO. I think the boys of an age where the more they see you, the better they will remember you.

Beautiful daughters. If they have to live so far away, you are blessed to be able to travel often to visit! It's been decades since I've been to Griffith Park or the Observatory. Nice to see a glimpse thru your camera.
ReplyDeleteWonderful last visit with your grandchildren! They are adorable and growing so quickly. I am happy for you, going back for another visit. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have these opportunities to spend time with your grands! I know it's hard when they are far far away.
ReplyDeleteThe boys are sure growing fast, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine flying back and forth that often, but I'm glad you're up to it. I flew from Vancouver, BC, to Sydney with stops in Hawaii and Fiji, then up to Brisbane, and by the time I arrived I was exhausted. When I got home, I went to my parents' house and slept for a week.
Your daughters are beautiful, and your grandsons are adorable.

I know you didn't want to leave those cute boys, and now you're on your way back to L.A. I'm not sure I could take those trans-Pacific flights that often, but the boys will be happy to see you.
ReplyDeleteMy Goodness... You are going back????? Mercy Me, Girlie... Pretty soon, you two will be moving to CA....
ReplyDeleteGreat set of photos... Good Luck with BOTH boys when you get there.... Most Grandmas like me don't have the energy to keep up with two little ones!!!!! ha

Betsy

ReplyDeleteI was in LA visiting my cousins a year or so ago. We tried to go up to the observatory one Saturday. I still cannot believe the number of people trying to travel up that hill. It was a half an inch a minute. Total traffic jam from the bottom to the top. We finally got up there and it was just ridiculous so turned around and went back down the same slow way. What I liked was the neighborhoods around that mountain. Some beautiful homes. One of these days I'll go over there when you are and we can have lunch somewhere.
ReplyDeleteYou do have two gorgeous grandsons, and going back so soon must be a blessing. Loved the photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics of your family in LA! Your grandsons are very cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you are able to go back to LA to help your daughter by babysitting! I hope it is a good opportunity for Bernie!
