OUR GIRLS 1977

My Story continued:

I'm still scanning photos and renovating old albums. Then I publish here ready to print into a book for our girls. As all parents do, we thought they were pretty cute kids.

BLOWING BUBBLES

My Story continued:

In 1977 the girls were at a nice age, 3 and 5. They were good at playing together and with our neighbour's children. However, it wasn't always rosy, there were some three year old tantrums now and then but no more nappies was a boon. (no disposables in those days).

We didn't go out much when the girls were little but we belonged to the local Lions Club and we attended the conference at Hervey Bay. Grandma came from Sydney and came with us to Hervey Bay in the Campervan. She looked after the girls when we went to the dinner.

Another time we went to a Lions Club Fancy Dress Party. We made Paper Mâché masks and dressed as Mickey and Minney Mouse. I made Bill his funny shorts too. It was a fun night.

THE FAMILY IN 1977

My Story continued

Do you remember those photo albums that had sticky pages with a plastic overlay? They were popular in the 70's and 80's. Well mine have lost the stick and photos are falling out besides the fact that the glue was harmful to photos. So I am in the process of putting the old photos into new albums. While I do that I scan them to make a book of them as well so each daughter can have a copy if they want.

  Sonya's third birthday

OMG the fashions then??? Safari suit and long day dresses.

My brother David came over from England to visit us. First he went to Sydney and then he drove my Mum, Dad and Aunt Ada to Brisbane to visit us.

First photo of my brother and I for years.

It was a long time since we had our whole family together.

CAMELLIA GARDENS SUTHERLAND SHIRE 1977

My Story Continued:

(I am still scanning old photos and renovating photo albums as well as publishing them here to make a blog book  for my girls to keep.)

We visited my parents in Sydney for Christmas 1976 and stayed on into the new year 1977. Mum and Dad took us to the Camellia Gardens for the girls to have a play and feed the ducks.

Sonya makes a friend

We visited grandma's friends and the girls had a swim in their pool with grandma.

We went to the local park at Loftus where I used to play as a kid.

The girls liked playing at grandma's house.
