We celebrated Christmas early so that Sonya and family could start their road trip with ancient caravan to Rye in Victoria about 1,800km/1,105miles south of Brisbane. They enjoyed stopping at beachside parks on the way there and different ones on the way back. While they were in Victoria they visited Carol and David, our other daughter and SIL as well as Bernies family. Carol and David are very excited because they have just bought their dream house in country Victoria but only a 90 min drive from their unit in Melbourne. So they can work in Melbourne for a few days and work from home in the country for a few days. While Sonya and Bernie were in Victoria they called in to see their sister, brother in law and the new house. Bernie's sister, Margaret and BIL, Jason also visited the new house.
Very nice, and with a pool. Green and near the sea, 90 minute drive.....South Gippsland.
ReplyDeleteBuying a dream house in the country is a great idea, especially if it is an easy drive from the city home in Melbourne. The vegetable garden and the orchard make the country home even more attractive.
ReplyDeleteI would do that in a heartbeat, as long as 1] there are no children who need continuity in their classes and 2] our work is easily done by computer from home in the country. Mind you, weekend stays in the country don't disturb work or school.
When I tried it years ago, when computers hadn't been invented. So although I really loved Bendigo, it couldn't last for very long.
Everyone does look very happy. That's lovely. The new house is beautiful and has fantastic views. I'm sure they will be very happy there. Congratulations to the couple on their new home.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Diane. The new house in country Victoria looks wonder and it's not that far away either.
