Regular readers will remember I told you that our lovely managing director and part owner of our village had to sell the village because the other owner wanted to retire and needed the money. So Chiou See sold the village to a hotel company called Hunter. Luckily, not much has changed and we are all still happy here. Chiou See was sad to leave us but she has stayed in touch and is enjoying her new little grandchildren. She and husband, Brendan have bought a beautiful house on the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane. She invited most of the village residents to attend a party at her new house. She organised a bus to pick us up and return us later in the day. It is about a one and half hour journey.
When we arrived, we found somewhere to sit and we were plied with drinks and snacks. Her friends and family did the serving. It is a beautiful house on the edge of a canal with a golf course next door. There was a musician singing for us. We did lots of chatting with those we hadn't seen for a while. Here are some memories from the day.

There are 27+ million people in Australia, and of all those houses and flats, I would most like to buy your managing director's home. My husband's dream in life is to look out his dining room window onto a golf course. My dream in life is to look out of my family room window onto a lake that is swimmable.
ReplyDeleteSigh... the dream continues.
That was so nice of her to invite most of you to her home, looks very lovely there, Diane.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great experience, and something she really didn't have to do, so it came from the heart. I note you said 'invited most of the residents'. There were some she didn't get along with?
ReplyDeleteIt is all so lovely! Was no one tempted to get into that swimming pool? I would have at least sat on the side of it and dipped my toes in! I love that you all were so politely taken by bus and didn't have to think about transport, so nice!
ReplyDeletenow this is a super great outing for all of you and the home is magnificent. so glad both of you could get a day away and with all your friends... I really enjoyed this visit even from here
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice party, I am sure it was great to see your director and her new place. The views look lovely.
Take care, have a great day!
How very generous of the former owner. She did so much for your community.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet thing for Chiou See to invite you all to her new home, and arrange for transport too. I expect she misses you all very much and thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone. Your photos are great!
