Cyclone (Hurricane) Alfred is heading right towards us. We have brought in all the outside furniture and pot plants. We have stocked up with water and food, torches and candles. Luckily we are not in a flood zone although there is a creek which passes under our access road to shops. It was supposed to hit tonight but its speed has slowed but not its intensity. So it is now expected to cross the coast tomorrow. The Gold Coast is already experiencing high winds and huge waves.
Oh my! I hope you are all going to be safe. xx
ReplyDeleteI thought climate chaos was so bad that we in Victoria and the other southern states would never ever control our summer bush fires. But the floods and extreme cyclonic winds in Qld will probably kill more people and destroy even more homes :(
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for you, and all.
ReplyDeleteWe are ready too. The waiting is energy sapping. How destructive will Alfred be? How bad the flooding? The coastal damage is already excessive.
ReplyDeleteBe safe Diane.
ReplyDeleteB phoned his Aunt there in Brisbane this morning, sun was shinning, no rain, sea calm near where she lives up on higher ground. However, things change in a second.
