August is usually our coldest winter month. This year we have gone from Winter to Summer without any Spring in between. The temperatures this week have been in the high 20C/70F and into the 30C /80F already. I love this weather but when it gets humid too that can be uncomfortable. It can get quite warm walking around the village but the flowers are looking great:
Magnolia
Grevillea
Beautiful flowers. Your weather is definitely more Spring than here in the South although today is lovely and we are getting some nice days in between the cold ones. Hope you have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteLovely lizard photo. We were supposed to be in Cairns now after catching the train from Brisbane. Maybe we booked to stay a bit late to avoid the heat.
ReplyDeleteWe had a fairly non-existent spring this year; winter dragged on in a damp and gloomy way well into the usual summer months. Such beautiful photos of the flowers.
ReplyDeleteThat was exactly the same with us we hopped from "winter" to summer without spring. That's strange as you are on the other side of the globe ! Confirms that something is wrong with our climate ! The flowers indeed are very beautiful. Our flowers which we had planted we never saw in full bloom, first it rained to much and then it was too dry.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of the flowers and lizard in your village Diane. Hope you are ok!
ReplyDeleteYour magnolias are very attractive flowers but I think in Melbourne they would not do as well as in Brisbane. Perhaps we don't have enough warmth all year, and our rain is too limited for magnolia trees to grow and thrive.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and I see we have those delightful visitors Diane. Been thinking about you and hoping all goes well with you and Bill.
ReplyDeleteI love those lizards, wow.. and the flowers are gorgeous. you are doing what we did, our coldest month is January and Feb, March, April are our easing into spring/summer and are wonderful. April of this year BOOM and we went right to 90 degrees and have had the AC on full blast since then, we are still in the high 90's every day and no cool air in sight...
ReplyDeletePretty flowers, love the lizard! Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are so beautiful. What a tropical spot you live in.
ReplyDeleteAmazing flowers, so beautiful.. I read back so I was sorry to read you've had such pain.. hopefully the worst is behind you and with the warmer weather you'll be feeling brighter.
ReplyDeleteIts good to see your post on the blog again. That must mean you are feeling better. What a time you have had.
ReplyDeleteYour Spring flowers are gorgeous and I do love the photos of the iguana. They are amazing critters.
Sue
Lucky you I hope we don't go from summer to winter that fast!! Lovely set of photos, Cheers t'other Diane
ReplyDeleteThe yellow flowers are mesmerizing!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the lizard! I think it'll be an early Winter here in Texas.

Lovely colour on your walk. 34C predicted today! It is just rediculous, but thank goodness, humid free.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty at this time of year there. We are hoping to have 'less hot' weather soon now that we are at the end of summer. I hope you are feeling better and can get out and walk some. I know you love walking like I do! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteIt has certainly been a warm end to winter but we are getting mild spring like weather, just a little earlier than usual. As I have been doing my gardening recently I have found lizards that appear to be still in their winter sleep, the didn't budge even when I was doing stuff right around them.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are lovely, Diane, and here we are about to welcome fall and cooler weather, which hasn’t happened yet. Hope you are able to get out and enjoy the coming summer days.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers - and the lizard is cute (rather them than snakes!) Suddenly feels quite autumnal here. Summer didn't last long! It's been so wet, apart from a few days these last few weeks,
ReplyDeleteOh my! The flowers you've shared look so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
While you are heading into warmer weather, Diane, we will soon be into the colder temps. But this past week it has been quite spring-like here. The flowers are beautiful and the magnolia reminded me of the ones we had when living in VA.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers In NZ the temperatures also have been above average. Not as high as yours, more in the twenties. In the coming days it is going to be cold again, however. Hopefully it is better overthere
