We have just returned from a three day road trip to Grafton and environs. Grafton is famous for its Jacaranda Tree lined streets. It is about a three hour drive from Brisbane south into New South Wales. This time we took the back road through the mountains. Unfortunately it was raining on and off but it was still pretty country and the rain turned the hills green.
|We stopped at the Border Ranges National Park Lookout|
|We stopped in the old country town of Kyogle for coffee.|
They still have an Art Deco building.

It doesn't matter where you look, up or down it is so beautiful.
I love the jacarandas, hubby hates them, but I love them. we had one like this in our front yard at our other home and he fussed all the time about it. these are so gorgeous, up and down, just like you said.ReplyDelete
The street full of jacarandas is fabulous! Love all that colour... We have a Jacaranda Festival in one of our Perth suburbs at the end of November.ReplyDelete
Your first photo of the hills is very pretty too Diane.
Wow, I'd love to see this for real. Those trees glow, even in the rain.ReplyDelete
Its colour is amazing and makes the streets like fairy-tailsReplyDelete
That street is breathtaking. What a magnificent sight.ReplyDelete
Awesome. I do so want to see that display one day.ReplyDelete
While we didn't see them, Pretoria in South Africa is the jacaranda king of the world. Further planting of them has been banned. They of course were in bloom in SA when we were there two weeks ago. Seasons seemed much the same.ReplyDelete
I grew up in California and there were jacaranda trees on our street. Lovely, but my mother hated them because they were "messy " trees. Yes, I s'pose they are, but the magnificence is worth it, IMHO. To others, maybe not.ReplyDelete
It sure is beautiful there, it's a place we have been but not when the Jacaranda's are out.ReplyDelete
Always wonderful to see the hills green.
The Jacarandas are beautiful. I haven't noticed any here in Adelaide yet so will have to go out and about to see if they are in flower. Our neighbour used to have a lovely tree but they had it chopped down for some reason and I really do miss it as it added such a lovely look to the street. Thanks for the photos.ReplyDelete
Hello, the Jacaranda trees are just gorgeous. The purple blooms are a lovely sight. Beautiful photos. Enjoy your day and weekend!ReplyDelete
Wow! Too bad about the rain but the trees are still beautiful. Do they smell good, too?ReplyDelete
They don't have a strong scent.Delete
What a beautiful place !!ReplyDelete
You certainly went through some beautiful territory, even if it was raining at times. The trees are absolutely gorgeous.ReplyDelete
One tree I truly miss they are so gorgeous. We had one street in Salisbury (now Harare) that was one white and one blue the full length of the street, stunning when in full flower. I had one of each colour in our garden as well, wish they would grow here. Have a fab weekend t'other DianeReplyDelete
Oh my - the Jacaranda trees are just gorgeous, love the purple blooms.ReplyDelete
Thank you for sharing these beautiful photographs.
All the best Jan
The jacarandas really are too beautiful en masse like this Diane.. I love rainy day shots like this, gorgeous scenery in the National Park and of course I adore the Art Deco building, I hope they always treasure it ✨ReplyDelete
One of the things I miss very much about no longer living in New Zealand is the wonderful Jacaranda trees.ReplyDelete
i;m a bit late in commenting on this post but your photos are great - as per usual. They brought back memories for me as I lived for so many years on the mid-north coast. Thanks!ReplyDelete
