When I opened up my calendar of events on my phone last Thursday I thought this is going to be a big day of eating and celebrating. Three of the groups that I belong to were all having their Christmas celebration on the same day. Oh dear its a hard life but I managed somehow.
In the morning we played tennis and then had a special morning tea as it was our last game for the year. It was a very hot day so we had cool drinks instead of hot tea. Helen and I both had to rush home have a shower and dress for lunch with the Birthday Bear group.
We celebrate Christmas with Birthday Bear after all it is Jesus' birthday.
Chris dressed bear for the festive season. Bear also brought some little bears to share with all of us.
Knowing that I had another dinner to go to on that night, I ordered the smallest meal at the "Black Forest German Restaurant". There was enough ham to feed me for a week. We got home in time for me to get ready for the next outing.
The Playgroup Ladies of the 70's have a Christmas get together every year as a reunion of the times when we used to meet with our toddlers to play together. Now we share stories of our adult children and our grandchildren. We were at Belesis Restaurant. It was a bit noisy sitting outside near the road. I rolled home with the fattest tummy that night. Three parties in one day not bad for an oldie but now I have to try and lose some weight,
ahhh Christmas is the busy season. you had a very full day indeed. i think it's wonderful that you still keep in touch with the playgroup ladies. lovely

ReplyDeleteYou did have a busy day socially, good on you.
ReplyDeletewow and you go girl, i have never been to even 2 parties inone day.. this must be a record somewhere. i did eat out 3 times in one day on vacation and the next day we could not eat until about 5 in the pm.. after that we only ate out 1 time or sometimes 2 in one day..
ReplyDeleteYep, it's that time of the year again. Parties, teas, dinners! I'm impressed you still play tennis. Makes me long for my normal life of the nineties and 2000 back in SA. Could you take home a doggie bag with what you didn't eat on that ham plate? Have a great week ahead. (Do you have any more parties? - we have two!) Greetings, Jo
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. And also jealous. I'd love that many events in one day. :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful having having all of these events, and friends. HOpe you season is not quite always this packed with food events or we will not recognize you after the holidays. Looks like you had such a fun day though!
ReplyDelete3 parties in one day...you do what you must. :)

ReplyDeleteYes that is a lot of ham, and a lot of gatherings for you to attend in one day, was there food at each event if so you must had been bloody full by the end of the day.......

ReplyDeleteThree in one day! What a socialite you are.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm impressed! What a fun day.
ReplyDeleteWrong time of the year to think about losing weight. I suppose at least doing three social things in one day means they are ticked off in a hurry.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day! So good to have so many friends to celebrate with. Happy Holidays…Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteYou had quite a day, with many goodies. I'm afraid it would take me many weeks to work off three wonderful meals in a single day.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a trouper Diane. I doubt that I would have lasted the distance.
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy but wonderful time you are having.
ReplyDeleteLove Bear's summery Australian Santa suit! What a wonderful day.
