The tropical weather is cooling down. It is the first day this Autumn that we have had a sweater on for most of the day. We put a blanket on the bed and we need a jacket when going out at at night. The temperature was 15* C this morning and rose to about 22*C. To us tropical dwellers. ITS COLD!

Kam Koon Restaurant, Springwood. |
However, we had a nice sky last night. We had a nice dinner too, for our anniversary. We had a chinese banquet and a complimentary bottle of wine from the owner of the restaurant, Kam Koon. We have been going there for 30 years.
I'm jealous. We are headed into the hot months and I dread them. Today I'm having my air conditioning vents cleaned out plus the air conditioner. I've ignored it too long. The high bills that thing brings in in the summer.
ReplyDeleteYou have our spring temperatures right now, lol !Your summer went by so fast I hardly noticed that you were complaining about heat ! but it rained a lot too this year.
ReplyDeleteSo you had a nice dinner, I love chinese too !
A gorgeous sky, and a nice gift from the owner of the restaurant.
ReplyDeleteI loved Brisbane in the winter. The weather was perfect from my point of view!
We are just now starting to have Spring, with today's forecast for +23C.

the painted sky is beautiful. we are in full heat of summer and getting hotter by the day, 94 F right now and will be hotter in another month, we have 4 long hot and humid months in front of us and the fear of hurricannes
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Happy Anniversary Diane. Brilliant sky photo and the restaurant looked very nice. It's in the 70s here this week and I absolutely love it. Gregg I think is like you and likes it considerably hotter, but waking up in the morning when it's just a tad nippy and then warming up to the low 70s is an idyllic temperature for me. I think I have a husband who would be very happy leaving in the steamy tropics. Me? I think I am still in England :)
ReplyDeleteSummer heat is breathing down our neck here in Tennessee. I would gladly send you some of our heat if I could. I'm glad you had a good dinner for your anniversary. Your sunset picture is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, Diane. I can't believe how time flies. It feels like just the other day (and not last year) you posted about how you and Bill met with a lovely photo of you "in those days" Yes, we're experiencing pretty cool weather here in SA after mild to very warm weather up in Kenya last week, We'll be back in EA before it gets really cold here in the Southern Hemisphere though. Yippee! Have a great week. Jo
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny, we are going into summer and you are going out. We live in opposite parts of the world as we can see on your globe, right on your blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! It's wonderful to have a favorite restaurant all those years that is still there...these days things change so fast.
ReplyDeleteMy God Diane, you are slow in the getting warmer department, I already am dressed in Eskimo clothing. How I hate winters! I think this year after all that summer rain, we will get a very cold (for us) winter, and August (ugh) is still awaiting and those Antartic winds!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat "processed" photo, before I read it all, I thought it was a bushfire in your forest area.
Cheers
Colin (HB)
Sounds like a great anniversary dinner...and a sunset, too! It seems so strange, you going into winter and we're heading into summer. Of course, when I lived in Florida I thought it was very funny the first time I saw teenagers walking home from Christmas shopping at the mall wearing their shorts, and somewhere I have a picture of my daughter at age 6 picking out the Christmas tree wearing a bathing suit (posed, of course, to send home to aunts)!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sky.

Well---SUMMER is breathing down our necks here in Tennessee today!!!! It's HOT... Summer is my least favorite season... I love spring and fall ---and even winter.. BUT--I'm not a person who enjoys HOT weather....
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your winter!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
It is bloody cold here I think it is going to be a cold winter, we have had to put a blanket on the bed and I have started having the heater on while I am in the bath.....
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!! You two look so sweet in your wedding photo. Happy Days! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLovely sunset! Hope you will be warm and cozy this winter. Get set to enjoy some down time. We are hoping for Spring and warm weather to actually show up.
Happy Anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary.
ReplyDeleteI don't get on too well with hot weather. 60 degrees sounds pretty good to me.
He he sounds warmer than our summer, Max was 6c here yesterday, warmed up today ... reached 8c.
ReplyDeleteWe lit the fire yesterday Diane. It is so therapeutic to simply sit and observe the flames.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and best wishes to you and Bill on an amazing achievement.
Congrats of your anniversary - wishing you many more!
ReplyDeleteI heard it got down to 11C in Cairns overnight - practically Antartica!
Still balmy singlet and shorts weather here.....
hi Dianne, glad you had a lovely birthday dinner.
ReplyDeleteyour sunset photos is very beautiful and arty!
have a great day!
betty
Hard to imagine you going into autumn as we are looking forward to summer. That sky picture is awesome, even with processing! Thanks for following! Nancy
ReplyDeleteWell..here it is May and we still have 142 inches of snow on the ground not 20 minutes up the road from us! The ski resorts are really loving all this "Spring" skiing!
ReplyDeleteThe sky looks as if it were on fire..lovely shot, especially when it WASN'T ! And, yay for free wine! After all, you are one of the reason's they are still in business..going there for over 30 years!!
Lovely a free bottle of wine for your celebration -- The benefits of living in one place for years! -
ReplyDeleteMy blood has thinned from living in this subtropical climate in the winter and now I think those temps sound cold too!!
Happy Anniversary Diane! I enjoyed your wedding post and think the mini wedding dress looked really sweet on you. It's a terrific day here if it's 15 and almost too hot if it's 22. It was that hot two days ago but the wind blew at 40 to 6o km/hr for the past two days and it was calm enough today for my husband to get up on the roof today and repair the shingles...but he had a hard time as the mosquitoes were at him non stop. If it's not one thing it's another! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteGreat - working again. I wonder will my "first" comment reappear?
ReplyDeleteThe balcony scene looking like an almighty bushfire from the state forests close by????
Colin (HB)
Your Anniversay Dinner sounded lovely.
ReplyDeleteFunny, isn't it... what's warm to some is cold to others.
A great shot of the sky - good fun :D)
Happy belated Anniversary wishes! Having spent the last three weeks in hot and humid China, I can relate to the coolness of 60 degrees! I got home this afternoon and was freezing...and it was 63 here. I've become a hot house flower!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comments on my blog while I was traveling. I'll have something up about the China trip over the weekend.
I'm with George, above, the heat is coming our way, soon with a vengence.
ReplyDeleteFall sounds appealing.
By the way - have I ever told you that I LOVE the name of your blog! :)... Marsha
Happy anniversary!
I decided last week to go out and buy myself a brand new thicker doona - just for moi. Works a treat ....
ReplyDeleteHappy belated anniversary, Diane!
ReplyDeleteoh no!!!! bush fire? Great processing
ReplyDeleteYou hardly seem to have had a 'normal' summer this year. But it's been 15C here today as well - and this is our spring/summer!
ReplyDeleteAlthough it's belated, a very Happy Anniversary to you! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI love Chinese food :) Your evening sky is spectacular!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's weird! My comment just upped and disappeared! Anyway, I'd said I am a huge fan of Chinese food (but seldom get to enjoy it as we don't have any really nice Chinese restaurants close by)...so glad you had a lovely anniversary celebration at one of your favourite spots! 30 years' worth of loyal patronage is quite something!!
ReplyDeleteSplendid night sky, Diane! Now how much tweaking did you do???
I used iphoto and cropped the original, took out some power lines and made the contrast stronger and gave the colour a boost.
ReplyDeleteDiane, sounds like you had a lovely anniversary dinner. The photos are great especially the sky shot.
