PARTY TIME WITH U3A

When I retired I wanted to learn more about photography so I looked up U3A to find a course or club. There wasn't a U3A in my locality of Logan so I went to Redlands U3A (a neighbouring city) for a year. Then I was contacted by a friend who was starting up an U3A in Logan including a camera club. I went to the first meeting and ended up being asked to be the leader of the camera club together with TOH's help.  So the two of us have been running the club for 2 years now. All leaders and tutors are volunteers.
I also go to "iPad" classes and I have joined a ''Walking for Fitness" group.
It is a great way to meet people, keep your brain active and have lots of fun.

  After the little concert, everyone enjoyed Christmas fare and time to chat with other members. Jean on the right is the wonderful lady who started up U3A in  Logan City. She is now finding it hard to do all the organising by herself so a group of us have offered to help for next year's classes and groups.

TWO DINNERS AND A LUNCH (No weddings or funerals)

My social calendar was a little crowded last week with two dinners on two consecutive nights and then a lunch the day after. Boom! There goes the diet.

PLAYGROUP DINNER 

Twice a year the playgroup mothers of the 70's get together for a girl's night out at a restaurant. We discuss the worlds problems and our travels. We catch up with marriages of our children and births of grandchildren and how they are all doing... blah blah blah. We share photos too of course...brag brag brag. And we all had a delicious Thai dinner. It was a good night out.

U3A DINNER

The following night it was the Logan Branch of the University of the Third Age dinner at a chinese restaurant. It was a good way to get to know people doing other classes than the one we attend (Camera Club). Not everyone came to the dinner but it was interesting listening to other people's stories and interests. Some of the subjects offered in Logan are Mah Jong, Psychology, Walking, Writing, Computers, Painting, Tai Che, English, Genealogy, Philosophy, Bible Study, Yoga, German, Spanish, Calligraphy and Camera Club.
