Sonya came to visit us on Sunday. She loves to take the dog for a walk in the forest. She talked her dad into taking the scooter into the forest. It was a bit tricky getting through the special gate for prams and scooters but not for motor bikes. But after the gravel path there were lots of concrete pathways for the scooter. So Sonya, the dog, Chief, the old man and the old woman entered the forest. The picnic park was full of visitors and the smell of barbecued sausages and steak made my mouth water.
This is the path from the village into the forest. It is a gravel path but suitable for scooters. It was instigated by one of our residents, Rex, who was confined to a scooter. He badgered the local MP to make a mobility scooter access to the forest. Unfortunately, Rex is no longer with us but we remember him when on his path.
The path goes into the picnic area, which gets busy on weekends.
Good that Bill can go for 'walks' on his scooter in the park. We are in our second red warning hot spell, so going out is not for us at present. The house at least keeps to 30 degrees C or under. Well over 40C outside. Take care t'other Diane
ReplyDeleteGood that access to the forest is accessible to scooters. It makes all the difference if you know you can get out into nature.
ReplyDeleteYour walkways and the forest look delightful.
ReplyDeleteI would love to walk there too.
Terrific photo of that scrub turkey. I like that you caught him in step.

ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
It's nice that Bill and his scooter could get out on the path and enjoy being outdoors.
ReplyDeleteHaving a scooter-suitable path through the forest and picnic area is a brilliant idea and easily achieved. I don't know who is enjoying it more - dad or the dog :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lovely walk and Bill’s scooter looks great for getting around. I am sending good thoughts to Rex. Lovely your daughter came to visit sweet pup too! Fun photo of the turkey silhouette. Happy week to you all Diane.

ReplyDeleteBeing amongst the trees is very special, I am glad so many get to enjoy nature.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see that there are such walking trails that can allow people with disabilities to stay in beautiful nature.
ReplyDeleteI love that shot of the turkey!! Our turkey is a better symbol of the USA than an Eagle, I think. They say that Benjamin Franklin was joking when he suggested the turkey, but I think he meant it.
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful that Bill was able to go in that beautiful forest with Sonya Great photos
ReplyDeleteFantastic for Bill and others. I love that snap of the Scrub Turkey.
