SHARK BAY

While we were in Sydney, Carol and David took us to lunch at Shark Bay overlooking the harbour.The photos were taken by TOH* as I left a cable at home for my little camera.

 We walked through Nielsen Park to get to Shark Bay. It is a beautiful  natural area surrounded by city suburbs.

 We climbed up to higher vantage point where the views were lovely.

We are looking across the harbour and pointing to where I studied at the Australian School of Pacific Administration (ASOPA). Later we will be heading to Canberra for a 50th Anniversary Reunion of my class. We have had a few reunions since 2002. They are held in different towns/cities around Australia because the ex students are scattered all over the country and the world.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

A few days ago we left Brisbane by car to drive to Canberra. It is about 1400k/1000m. We planned to stop a few times on the way. 

 After two hours we stopped for a driver swap and coffee in a cafe overlooking the Maclean River.

Next rest stop was at Macksville.

 That evening we pulled into Port Maquarie and found a room in a motel overlooking the beach. We walked out the door for a stroll and was greeted by a lovely sunset.

I liked the light on the palm tree.

The next morning we set off for Sydney.

 We arrived at our daughter's just after lunch. We had been stuck in traffic in one of the many tunnels under the city. But it was lovely and relaxing looking at the view from Carol and David's balcony in Vaucluse.

 The next morning we went for a walk from their apartment along the cliff walk to .............

 the Maquarie Lighthouse, the first to be built in Australia.

 We crossed a small park and then we could see all the way up the harbour. It sure is a beautiful scene.Then we returned for a scrumptious breakfast.
