WET WEATHER BIRTHDAY BEAR

It is quite a few months since Birthday Bear has had an outing. It is my birthday on Monday but we had a celebratory lunch today. I chose to go to the Northshore Riverside Cafe as I like the view overlooking the Brisbane River. It has been raining on and off for the last week but today it was fine and cool.

Birthday Bear came dressed for the wet weather she didn't think it was going to be fine today. She had her rain hat, umbrella and boots.  Some ducks and frogs followed her into the cafe.

There were only six of us today, Paul, Helen, Ann, Birthday Bear, moi, Bill (TOH) and George. Mary couldn't come and Chris and Bob are travelling grey nomads. (We saw them while we were up north which will be on a future post)

I had macadamia nut crusted barramundi fish with potato bake and...

 lemon meringue pie

The view from the cafe over the Brisbane River.

The cafe is set in a park. New apartments are being built on the river bank. I wouldn't mind the view.

Looking up stream towards the city. The City Cat can drop you at the door of the cafe on weekends.

Bear is at home with us now and happy to be in the warm dry house. Thanks to Ann for dressing Bear this time.

BIRTHDAY BEAR INTERRUPTS TRAVELOGUE

As it was my birthday while we were away over the other side of the world, my friends and Birthday Bear waited for us to return to celebrate my birthday. So a month after my birthday we went to Baan Thai Restaurant. Bear had been dressed by Ann (she always has good ideas).  I am an ardent football (soccer) fan and the team I follow is the "Brisbane Roar," their colours are orange and maroon.

Birthday Bear waits patiently at Ann's house for us to return from USA. He has been practising his goal keeping skills. The Roar won the competition last season so I see bear is holding the cup.

I was blown away when I saw him at the restaurant. He looked so cute in his football strip.
I forgot my camera (again) so Helen and Ann provided the above shots. We didn't remember to take a photo of all of us.(doh- a collective senior moment)

Now he is home standing in the hallway looking very proud of himself.
