A WATERCOURSE GARDEN

Besides our village having a beautiful Zen Garden we also have a Watercourse Garden. It runs through the middle of our village, which is built on a hill. A creek bed has been built to channel the rainwater down the hill and beside the channel, gardens have been established with meandering pathways and stairs leading to each road. Here is a map of our village. Can you see the watercourse down the middle?
In case you are wondering we live in Tranquil Avenue opposite the red car. I'll take you for a walk down through the gardens from Spirit Place. This is the newest part of the village so the gardens are not properly established yet.
This is Spirit Place. The house on the left is where the CEO lives. We walk to the middle......

...where we come to the stairs that lead down to Tranquil Ave.

Here you cans see how there is one apartment is on top of another. The top one enters from the street where I am standing and the bottom one enters from the street below,  so there are no stairs in any buildings. Well down we go.

Looking back up to where we came from.

Tranquil Avenue, my street. See the forest at the end of the street. We are going to cross the road where the crossing is.

Down the stairs to Joy Place.

Joy Place.

We cross the road and stop to smell the roses.

Down the stairs to Serene Ave

Serene Avenue

Stop to admire the butterfly before going down the stairs to Harmony Street.

Harmony Street and a Curlew who lives in the garden on the right. The main road, Dennis Rd, is behind the garden on the right.

  3. Truly a beautiful place to live and I love how they did the up and down and I'm wondering why we don't have anything like that here course we don't have any land that goes up and down it's all flat so not sure it would work. A lovely place to live! Now I'm wondering why they added Dennis and all those beautiful names. Seems like that name doesn't fit the rest of the streets. You sure have a nice place to walk

  10. I do like the way your village is set out, it would make living there very enjoyable with so many nice garden areas. We have thought about retirement village living but haven't yet found any that we really like, but think one like yours would be lovely but don't think there is anything like that here in SA. Thanks for taking us on a lovely tour.

  16. The planners did a fantastic job. The streets are all beautiful and the flower gardens and pleasant stream along with the Zen garden in the other days post. ... love that there are no stairs into any of the apartment homes, but hope you’ll be able to continue taking the ones along the pretty walk for awhile yet. I have days when I could and days when I couldn’t.

  17. Now talk about peace and harmony. Just the names of your streets show what the premise of your living areas are.
Simply beautiful and wonderful places to walk and enjoy.
I am fascinated by the building of the apartments so all can enter on a ground level. That's really thoughtful and ease for moving about.
    Thanks for sharing with us.
