It is a happy/sad time when a mother says goodbye to her babies when they start Kindergarten and school. In the winter of 1978 Sonya started Kindergarten and Carol had been in school for nine months. It was lovely to see them growing up and being independent but a little sad to have no babies at home all day every day.

Parents always worry that their children will cry when they start school. In the event the children run off happily leaving the adults wiping away tears.
ReplyDeleteAdorable photos Where does the time go. I always helped out at kindergarten and school which was really cool.
ReplyDeleteall the photos speak to sisterly love. my favorite is the two of them with Ricky. adorable...
ReplyDeleteMy son set off for school at about the same time. Mixed feelings!
ReplyDeleteFifteen or so years later I was rather glad to see them get up and go!
I don't think anyone has family record photos like you have. You must have known back then about capturing time with photos.
ReplyDeleteOh how adorable they are Diane. I remember when my kids started kindy and school, I cried all the way home.. which was just around the corner 😊 Your girls look like they were really good buddies 💙💜
ReplyDeleteThese photos -- and the memories they bring -- are priceless.
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to go back into the archives and remember our kiddos when they were so little.
ReplyDeleteHello, they are adorable girls. Ricky is cute too. Great collection of photos! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
ReplyDeleteLovely memories, and such adorable girls!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter sent her youngest off to kindergarten this fall with the same tears. Those years go so fast from baby to school boy or girl, don’t they.
ReplyDeleteSuch darling girls....and it is amazing how much they look like their mommy! Sweet memories (yes, bittersweet at the time).
ReplyDeleteGreat family photographs, especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks for sharing more family memories, Diane. I suspect you are also enjoying these trips down memory lane perhaps even more than your fellow bloggers..
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was a time that needed adjustment in our thoughts, I understand what you felt.
ReplyDeleteYour girls have such big bright happy smiles!
Beautiful memories you've shared Diane :D)
I enjoyed seeing your family photos. Everyone certainly does look very happy. Lots of great photos and memories.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet photos! Your daughters are so pretty and so smart, Diane--no surprise with such parents as you and Bill. My youngest granddaughter will be beginning full time kindergarten next year. I feel the same bit of sadness all over again!
