DARLING DAUGHTERS

Last week I visited Sonya and family in Melbourne. On the weekend my other daughter flew from Sydney to join us. We had a lovely time together except I found it very cold.
While the nanny minded Banjo, and Fox went on a play date us three girls went to lunch.

After lunch we went to the Art Gallery to see the Van Gogh exhibition but it was booked out. Water continually pours down this window.

Melbourne reminds me of Europe. It was a lovely time being with my two girls. Sonya gave me a warm scarf for my birthday.

The next day we all went to the circus show, The Mad Hatter's Tea Party in the Spiegel Tent. The boys participated in the dancing.

After the show we had lunch and then went to Luna Park. The kids had fun.

Aunty Carol and Fox challenge Bernie and Banjo on the Dodgem Cars.
The Melbourne family. After the big day we went home for my last sleep in Melbourne.

The next morning Carol and I took the boys to the park while Mum and Papa had some free time together. Carol and Fox scootered while Banjo chased the ducks. Then we all went to Yum Cha lunch.  After lunch we went to the airport, where Carol flew back to Sydney and I flew to warm Brisbane. It was nice to catch up with the family.

  2. There are some quite iconic Melbourne places in your photos. Great photos. I can see your lighter haired daughter looks like you. A friend advised us not to bother with the Van Gogh exhibition as it was only his early and less important work, so we didn't, but it has been the biggest dollar or attendance grossing exhibition at the gallery ever. I was surprised to hear that, as they have had some really good exhibitions, as I have shown at times. You look very Melbourne like in a big scarf.

  12. You were really on the go, Diane. And, seeing everyone bundled up for the Luna Park visit actually made me feel a bit chilly myself. it seems to have warmed up a bit by the time the park photo was posted. Hope you all had safe travels back to your respective homes. Thanks for sharing the family fun.

  13. It looks like such fun (but definitely cold... I would definitely have noticed that too no matter how great it was to see everybody)...... and by the way, I think your lessons on people photography 'took' -- these are all great. Of course you have beautiful and handsome subjects!

  17. We have just spent a month in qld visiting family and a fe friends. A busy time. And soooo lovely and warm. It was a real shock to get back home to Winter and things made worse by heating system breaking and needing a new part which we are still waiting for. Qld is definitely the place to be at this time of year. I remember Melbourne this time last year. Horrible.
