BIRTHDAY BEAR GOES DRIVING

The first Birthday for 2013 in our Birthday Bear Group is Bill's 70th. We are all happy to see him reach this milestone as he has had some serious illnesses in the past. But here he is on his 70th as large as life and enjoying himself with Birthday Bear. If you are not familiar with our Birthday Bear celebrations you can read Birthday Bears blog here.
Bear came to the Birthday lunch dressed in his Snowy Mountain driving gear, ready to tour the Snowy Mountains.

He has cars  to choose from and maps of the Snowy Mountain Region. We were supposed to drive there last October but we had to turn back due to bad weather. Hopefully Bear can get us there next time.

I love his driving cap. Thanks to Ann for dressing bear this time.

LtoR: Mary, Margie, Peter, Helen, Paul, Bill, Ann standing, me, Ros, Dennis and George.
We had the usual crowd plus a few extras this time. Friends Margie and Peter had come from The Hunter Valley to visit us and dennis and Ros. So they came to join in the fun and celebrate Bill's 70th with him.
Paul had just got out of hospital yesterday after an operation to remove a tumour and a piece of broken rib from his chest. He wasn't going to miss the party. He is such a fighter.

  9. Ah gee!
Looks like a load of fun.
Of course Bill, you will still be strutting the stage at 80, 90 - 100??
Annj, you do a great job with that bear, as do you all when the turns of dressing him/her up is yours.
No fumigation due to the constant rain here yesterday, done this morning! Damn.
That photo was obviously taken very early, not too many filled glasses???
    Cheers

  29. Diane,
Once again I find you and your friends having more fun than almost anyone I know. And good for you!

Our latest adventure took us to the Napa Valley, and while the scenery was beautiful...well, let's just say there were some lumps in the road. :)
    Hve a great weekend.
P.S. That bear just gets better looking every year! How does he do it? :)

  30. Can Birthday Bear come over and visit me on my 70th? It may be the only way I will cheer up for it. Man - I can't believe I'm looking at that number. Where did the years go? And why didn't I handle them better such as making better decisions. Cute photos of him. BB's daddy that is. :))

You always have the greatest luncheons!
