So here we are at Bondi Beach staying with Daughter No. 2 and waiting for the birth of her baby.
While she and Grandpop-to-be were watching a DVD I grabbed my camera and went for a short walk.
Bondi Beach is a famous eastern suburb beach in Sydney.
It is lovely walking along the beach in Autumn
The young ones still enjoy surfing.
It is relaxing watching them.
Walking along the street to 'home' I came upon this lovely tree.
Looks like you could do worse as a place to be holed-up waiting! I do hope all goes well with the birth when it happens.
ReplyDeleteI used to do that walk when I lived in O'Brien Street. I see that bell flower a lot. I actually took some photos of it today up at Dangar Island in the mouth of the Hawkesbury. Be a good lass and find out its name!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, is a pleasure to help.
ReplyDeleteThe name of this tree is Brugmansia aurea 'Orange Glory'.
Is of the same family as potatoes and tomatoes,(Solanaceae), but some parts of this tree are toxic.
Have a nice weekend.
It's fun to have you doing shots in Sydney. Looking forward to meeting you in person at the blogger meet. Maybe you will be grandparents by then.
ReplyDeleteCool shots. Wish I was on that beach!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful walk. Thanks for taking me along! I was just about to say we have the same tree with bell-like flowers and it's called a Brugsmansia. It is an alien in South Africa but many gardeners ignore this and still plant it. Hugs to that beautiful daughter of yours and GP2B! You have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beach. Lovely flowers. Happy for you and your daughter that you can all be together for this wonderful event!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place to wait! Y'all hang in there now.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful views of Bondi Beach. There are some similarities between there and here...including that trumpet tree (I'm not sure that is its name, but that is what I call it!)...and the beach of course.
ReplyDeleteHey Diane, any signs of labor yet?
ReplyDeleteMy ex-husband and I are in love with this tree with the hanging orange flowers. He wants to know the name of it if you happen to know.
Keep us updated on any labor pains!
What a beautiful landscape, no wonder that you liked to walk there. I hope the baby will come in the next days ! I lost my bet, lol !
ReplyDeleteDiane, a lovely walk. Great pics.
ReplyDeleteBondi looks like a really lovely spot. We were thinking of going there, but then I missed my family in Malaysia too much, so we went to Malaysia instead of Bondi.
Really nice to see yr pics - maybe we'll go Bondi soon...
Still WAITING, Diane??? My My!!!! Babies only come when THEY are READY--not when we want them to come. We're home from the beach --and I'll post in the morning. Had a wonderful time --but it's nice to be home.
ReplyDeleteOne of my sons is visiting me on my 'special' day (Mother's Day) today!!!!!
Hope you have a wonderful day. Maybe that precious one will put in an appearance TODAY!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
I was recopgnizing this place!! ;) Great pictures...
ReplyDeleteNow which view do I like more, the sea or the Brugmansia? Both beautiful views of nature.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to grow a Brugmansia too but I don't think it would like our frosts....not that we have as many as we used to.
