The coach took us to the station and we said goodbye to Marilyn, our driver for the last 10 days, and boarded this magnificent train. We were in the Gold Leaf Class (First Class).
The Gold Leaf was in double decker carriages. We sat upstairs with a glass roof and the restaurant was downstairs. Every carriage had its own kitchen and chef and support staff.
We travelled past rivers, forests, mountains and.....
lakes and......
we could see the train snaking along in front of us.
We passed rafters.
The train was very comfortable, with plenty of room to walk around and chat to our new found friends.
The food was fabulous.
In fact throughout the whole trip it was one huge food fest. That night we left the train at Kamloops and spent the night in a hotel. We also went to dinner and a show there. The next day we boarded the train again for Vancouver.
