I have been dabbling in Family History. I don't really know what I'm doing but I'll sort it out one day. I have so many other projects on the go; that is the problem. Anyway, I came across these old photos of my Mum, Florrie Greenall, when she was at school and I thought they were lovely photos. They also tie in with
Sepia Saturday's prompt photo of a rowing boat.

Florrie Greenall went to Thornes House Girls Secondary School from c. 1925 to 1929, which became
Thornes House Grammar School and is now a campus for the Wakefield College. That is in Wakefield, Yorkshire, England. In this photo mum is with her school friends but I don't know where they are. Apparently there was a lake in the school grounds, maybe it's there. I just love their 1920's swim wear. I think it is about 1928/9. I vaguely remember my mum saying these shots were taken for the press. They are excellent photos for their age and they were on Post Card paper.
I wish I could find out why the photos were taken. I tried finding newspapers from that time but I wasn't successful. The Wakefield Library suggested I pay a researcher to check for me, but I have put that on hold for a while. I know there are people out there who know how to sleuth photos, maybe one of you can help me.
