Residents and friends gathered together to raise money for cancer research and enjoy a big morning tea.
The food was prepared and served by volunteer residents.
There were many raffle tickets sold for these lovely prizes. I won a prize for having a lucky dot under my placemat.
Terry and Kathleen organised the morning tea with volunteer helpers.
Just one of the many tables.
We had a professor give a short speech about cancer. We also had trivia games and raffles.
Bill enjoying his scooter.
He passes our only Autumn tree in the street.
The big morning tea is an excellent way to socialise, and to raise money for important cancer research. In particular, it is important that the professor give a speech about cancer, to give the outing a serious focus.
ReplyDeleteThe fundraiser looks fun! Bill does look he is enjoying his scooter. Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event for such a worthy cause. How nice you got a prize too. Bill looks good on that scooter. I'm still in the search mode.

The village events are always so well attended. I never associate autumn trees with Queensland.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like a very well organized and fun fundraiser. It brings a smile to my face to see Bill driving his scooter. It gives him a new lease on life because it affords him the ability to get around quickly and safely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tea for a great cause. Lucky you with the dot under your placemats! That is a sweet idea. My God mother's name was Dot, how I would love to call her and tell her of this post. She died of cancer 2 years ago. A very great lady.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, congratulations on winning a prize! That is so exciting. The "lucky dot under the placemat" trick is such a fun idea. I bet everyone was frantically flipping over their mats to check!
ReplyDeleteI love that photo of Bill cruising along on his scooter past your only Autumn tree. It looks like such a peaceful moment, and that splash of color on the street is gorgeous. It sounds like the perfect mix of learning from the professor's speech, having some fun with the trivia, and just enjoying each other's company.
Did you choose a fun prize from the raffle table? Sending you a massive hug, and I hope your Friday is just as lovely and bright!
Looks like you had a great time and all for a good cause. Bill looks very happy with his scooter! Can you keep up out walking :-)) Happy weekend, t'other Diane.
