For years I had been walking in Daisy Hill Forest. We have lived in four different homes but all were close to the forest. Now we live right next to the forest. That was one of the reasons that we chose this retirement village. However, due to back problems I couldn't walk long distances. After back surgery and reliance on pain killers, I could walk distances again but my friends and I all getting older took to walking an easier route through Priest Gully Park. However, I have been stacking on the weight lately and I decided to do some extra days walking with a different group of friends. They go into the forest some days so I went with them and was proud of myself to be able to keep up with them, they are all some years younger than me. I must admit that I am pooped when I get back from the walk. Its about 4k and hilly.
Good for you. The aging process is a real bummer.
ReplyDeleteDiane, you did a great job walking that far, well done. The photos are lovely too.
ReplyDeleteyou look great to me and this is a great idea, more walking and with TWO sets of friends. I should be so lucky.. I would love to live walking distance to those woods
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your walking club and 4k hike. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend.
ReplyDelete4 k is a very decent walk. Well done!
ReplyDelete4 K and hilly! Bless you, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like torture but good on you for achieving an aim.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your back problems and happy you are doing good now! Well done you for doing that walk. Keep it up and it gets easier How wonderful to live close to the bush
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful trail you're walking. I always find walking on soil and grass is so much easier and natural than walking on cement or other materials. Even so, 4k is a long distance. I'm not sure when is the last time I've done that so well done!!
ReplyDeleteYou look very at home in the forest Diane. I have the same issues with walking these days. Hoping to get all that taken care of this year. I always said when you have beautiful surroundings, like a forest, walking is no exercise at all. Just too busy taking in all the beauty around me. Happy week to you my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteWell done with your walking ... nice photographs.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
