When it has been raining my walking buddies and I take a different walk from that in the Daisy Hill Forest. We do the Priest Gully walk because it is a concrete path and a lot safer underfoot than the muddy slippery trails in the forest. We have had more rain than usual for this time of the year so we have mostly been walking in this park. I'm just happy that I can walk with them again after being in pain most of last year. Now dosed up on pain killers I am pain free.
We turn right when leaving the village and walk along the street for about 200 metres and then turn into the bushland following a little creek , which is discoloured due to all the rain.
If you ever would like to share our Sunday lunches, enjoy smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers on bagels. But your guests look polite.. my grandchildren are a bit noisy!
ReplyDeleteNice photos. I thought your Priest Gully path was flooded before I read on. I was looking at the creek.
ReplyDeleteA lovely place to walk, that wattle tree is a good one, Diane.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks good and nice photos of the family too.
The walk looks nice, pretty views of the bushland and the pretty trees. Great photos of your family.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day!
good idea sticking to the concrete and I love photo #2 wow, lots of water. every one looks happy with the food, I love bagel pizzas
ReplyDeleteYou have rain, we have drought! It must be lovey having family close by after so long apart.
ReplyDeleteYes it is so good.
DeleteDiane, I love that first image of Priest Gully, with its pattern of gently, swirling froth. How wonderful that you are now able to see Sonya and family so regularly.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Diane! Thank you so much for sharing this lovely walk!
ReplyDeleteA lovely family visit.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed your photographs from Priest Gully.
All the best Jan
Oh I thought the path was flooded in the first photos but that was of course the creek. Always nice to have a meal together isn't it. Oh so you know sauerkraut as well. I couldn't find sauerkraut in the supermarket last night and the guy who worked there asked me if it was catfoot haha We usually eat it with bacon and a dutch smoked sausage
ReplyDeleteHaha, I need new glasses! I thought it odd that a plant with yellow flowers was called "noisy miner". When I looked it up, it said it was a bird. Went back to your photo, suddenly there was a bird on that plant! Aging eyes can cause laughter!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, I love all your photos! It looks like a beautiful walk!
ReplyDeleteDiane, I completely agree that walking on a paved path is safer after a rainfall. One of the reasons I have not recently been walking in our nearby park area is that it is not paved and also because of insects. Fall sill be a welcome time to get back to outdoor walking for me. It’s great to have weekly family gat togethers and good food too. Your grandsons are growing up as fast as our grands😀
ReplyDeleteLovely to have family to visit, wish mine lived nearer.. I was going to say take care when wet underfoot walking, but I'm a fine one to talk!! Thank you for your kind comments on my blog after my accident.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful walk and so glad it is a solid path. I am happy to know that you can be out and about again. Pain is so debilitating. Great that your family can come and bring you lunch too. Where would we be without our families??
ReplyDeleteToday its 104F... truly much too hot for me. I'm hugging the air conditioner and staying inside !!

Thanks for sharing the walk and glad you have a safe one in wet weather -- You're a great role model getting back out there to walk again. I've found that once you stop moving for any reason it's so hard to start in again* -- having friends to welcome you back is helpful though. So great to have your family nearby. Our son and DIL are bringing dinner to us tonight. ( *getting back to blogging once you stop for a while is hard too -- I'm motivating myself by visiting good blog friends -- one of these days I hope to write again ))
ReplyDeleteNice pictures. Thanks for sharing your walk.
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed to have walking buddies to walk with
I enjoyed the walk and seeing all the water. Great photos.
