My friend and I set off for our walk early in the morning we were heading for Priest Gully but just as we were leaving the footpath to enter the park it started to rain so we turned around and came home, we didn't have umbrellas with us. Later in the day the rain cleared and I went for a walk around the village. Here are some of the flowers that I saw. Not too bad for winter time.
Banksia
Grevillea
Looking at the variety and colours of the flowers I can't believe it is mid winter there.
ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed. It would hard to find so so much colour on the Island in summer!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's winter?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour village seems like a lovely place.
All beautiful Diane. So good you can walk around the village and in the bush.
ReplyDeleteNice photos.
Beautiful flowers and your photos are lovely. Nice walk.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day!
You do have some lovely winter blooms in your neighborhood, Diane. And, of course, since it's summer here we have them as well, but our winter will be rather dreary.
ReplyDeleteYour winter walks are so colourful, compared to ours. Poinsettia is a plant we give as gifts in pots at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteA very nice collection of photographs.
ReplyDeleteNice to see your flowers, especially the Poinsettia.
All the best Jan
Simply gorgeous. I am not familiar with a lot of the flowers but you captured them beautifully. The seed pods on that first picture are quite amazing.
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting it is winter there while we tend to swelter here in California.
Glad you are able to take your walks now.
Sue
Wonderful colour to be seen in our winter. Lovely images, Dianne.
ReplyDeleteYou live in a beautiful place. Sorry I have been a bit lapse. Busy, then I fell and broke ribs so I have been very sore, I am finding that resting is not something I can do very easily!! Cheers t'other Diane
ReplyDeleteI'm so surprised you have so many flowers in bloom during your coldest months! What a pretty place to take a walk and always good to have your camera or phone handy! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blooms! It would do a body good to walk among them. Very colorful and cheery!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed wit all the flowers. In my winter there is just snow! They look so pretty with the raindrops.
