FIVE DAYS OF BOREDOM

Recently I was admitted to hospital because the wound from a skin cancer incision had got infected. The wound had to be dressed every six hours and I had to take oral antibiotics. Although I was worried about the wound opening and not healing, I didn't feel sick enough to be in bed all day. I had books to read, iPad and puzzles and TV I was still bored stuck in a room all day. So each day after the wound had been dressed and I had my medication, I escaped from the ward and went for a walk around the streets.

I came across the hospital chapel and went inside for some peace and quiet after the noisy ward.

Now I am home with my soul mate and feeling relieved that the germ has been eradicated but the wound is still trying to heal.

  12. Sorry to hear you have been unwell. Healing seems to take much longer as we age. Hubby and I seem to be constantly in the wars over one thing or another. All the best for full recovery.

  21. Diane, glad to read that you are back at home with Bill, and hope the healing continues now that the cause has been eliminated. Interesting that you were able to "escape" from the ward and go for walks.

  23. Oh, no - I missed this one but came searching after I got your e-mail. My friend, Barb S ,had a precancerous wound on her shin that took forever to heal. It was in a place where she could not keep it immobile. Hope you don't have any more difficulty with your wound! Bob had to have a hunk taken out near belly button, but it healed well. He's always been a sun worshipper so now often has skin lesions that need to be frozen or biopsied.

  24. I did miss a post! My Excuse is, we have been out in the woods camping. No WiFi, limited phone service. It’s good for our sanity once in a while. Anyway, ouch! and i hope you’re feeling much better soon.
