APOLOGIES

I'm sorry that I haven't had time to read and comment on your blogs lately but I've been a bit busy and preoccupied with all the organisation needed for moving house. So much to do besides the obvious culling and packing but also the liaising with agents, solicitors, village staff, removal company and all the utility companies. This, as well as going to Melbourne for nine days to help out with baby sitting before we move. Oh well keeps the body and mind active but I'll be happy when it is all over and I can relax and get back to blogging more often.

This is just one room. There are many more that look like this.

I am taking loads of photos of my garden so I can still enjoy it when I have gone.  I still manage to squeeze in a morning walk in Daisy Hill Forest and I will be able to continue this as our village is right beside the forest.

We saw a joey in Mum's pouch.
The pouch looked stretched to the limit.
Then this big joey climbed out
The pouch hung open and joey often put his head inside for a drink. I think joey is big enough to leave home. I think a lot of human parents think that these days.

Driving out of the forest I saw a flock of cockatoos on the roadside. These are just a few from the car window. Then it was home to do more packing.

  2. Remembering our last move I know how busy you are. Exciting times ahead. Good luck with the move and thanks for the photos. Lovely one of the two of you, how lucky you are to see the kangaroos and cockatoos in their natural habitat.

  3. My you both have been very busy then.
Lovely photos and it's pleasing you sold the house rather quickly, and baby sitting taking a lot off your mind as in moving...good luck.

  6. Fab so the house sold and the big move is on. The culling would be as hard as the packing I reckon.

  8. Good luck in your new home! Hopefully you still have a bit of space for all the things that have 'escaped' the culling process.

  14. Looks like you are totally organized and almost ready to move. I know you will miss your garden but from what I saw you're going to have nice Gordon's to walk around where you'll be living might not be yours but lots to look at and take photos of. I love the photos of the mom and Joey and I agree it's time for Joey to move on out

  16. Totally understand -- we just went through the whole downsize and move thing six months ago. How wonderful to see a kangaroo with her big joey on your walk. That would be a highlight of my life!

  17. You definitely don't need to apologise, what a dedicated Blogger you are over all these years!
What you have to organise, and get your head around, is enormous but, my goodness, you're getting through it so well - plus a couple of weeks of babysitting to boot :D) You're an amazing couple.
Keep that end goal in sight now - how relaxing it will all be once this is behind you ... yay for you!!

Beautiful pics and - wow - that 'baby' roo ha ha - the big sook!!
    Hugs xx

  22. Wow we have only been away for a month and your whole life seems to have changed as I go back over your last posts. I am sure you will be sad to leave your home and garden, but I must say where you are moving to looks fabulous. I hope the move runs smoothly and that all is well. I don't envy you moving though, we have moved 9 times since we got married 36 years ago and 5 country moves. 3 houses ago I said never again but this time I think it really is the last!! Keep well both f you t'other Diane

  24. Oh I completely understand what a tough job you have to do. The flowers then a kangaroo is wow, how do they stretch the belly so far?

  25. That must be a strange feeling when your house is definitively sold. A new chapter of your life starts ! I or Mr.G probably will have to go through that too. As long as wee are two our house is practical and OK. But alone I didn't want to live in there. I suppose you had a lot of work to do to sort out everything. When I think of all the stuff which has accumulated here, I feel sick !

  26. I'm so glad that you will be living close to those gorgeous walking areas... Cute little (BIG) Joey.....ha

Sounds like the move so far is going smoothly... I know you will be glad to get everything done and moved...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  27. I'm glad you'll still live close to that great nature area. Oh that poor Kangaroo mom -- yep, I do know more than a few human moms who could relate.

Don't worry about not visiting -- you have way too much to do. I remember the trauma of getting our house sold and how tired I was -- I wasn't blogging then. (And also I was barely 60, just a mere child ;>))....

  28. While I am so happy for you and Bill as you start your new adventures, Diane, I am just a tad bit envious as one day we hope to see a Sold sign on our VA home. We have had viewers recently and hopefully a new hospital opening and warmer temps will bring an interested buyer. Moving is a chore as is sorting out what's to stay and what's to go and it continues well after you've moved. Then you will wonder..."Why did we pack this anyway?" before chucking things out...happened to us as well.

  29. I don't comment as much as I'd like during a normal week, let alone if we were moving house too! Hope it all goes well - all the very best in your new home!

  30. My goodness that mothers pouch must have been stretched to the max... hope that joey decides to move out soon. Best of luck with your move
