REMEMBERING HOW

I had forgotten what it is like to go shopping with toddlers. Fox has his own trolley and does a good job helping.

The baby is having his afternoon nap and Fox and I have a rest too.

I'm having a fast track course on remembering how to look after toddlers.

  1. Bless You... I'm not sure I could do what you are doing anymore... They would wear me out!!!!! ha

But--you are doing what you can to help. That is a good thing!!!

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  2. I would have to jog my memory too, it's been awhile. It looks like Fox was ready for a rest after all that work. He is adorable.

  3. It might be best for you if your child caring is adequate rather than exceptional.

  4. I know what you mean Diane. I'd rather stay home and let someone else go to the store. My daughter tries to stop on her way home while the babysitter is still there. :)
Fox looks like he's doing a great job. I love those iPad (I think that's what he has) moments in the day.
Have fun Diane and it is wise to rest when they do.

  5. That is what Nanna naps are for Diane, recharging ones batteries after chasing toddlers around all day. Good luck, stay sane and enjoy every minute with them.

  6. It's wonderful that you can look after the 2 of them, and enjoying every minute I bet :) We are lucky those of us who are able to look after our grandchildren, whether it be weekly or once in awhile. We learn from them, they learn from us.

  7. well done Diane, it takes energy to look after toddlers. they look like very well behaved little boys. i'm getting a new grandson in december and it worries me just a bit as to how i'll cope. i'm sure it will all come back to me. :)

  9. Rather you than me. One I can just about cope with, not sure about two. But I'd never say no. It's a precious privilege even if it is exhausting.

  13. I love having little ones around but I am just as glad to send them home. I don't know what I would do without their Mum being around to really do the hard work .. I've actually never had that experience.

  21. I had also forgotten, and even worse, now they have these doors which open automatically which didn't exist at the time when Dario was a toddler. So in no time Toby ran towards the door and I sprinted after him !

  22. Looking after little ones is easier then remember how to ride a bike, in my case last time I tried to ride a bike I fell off. However I have never forgotten how to care for little ones, right now I have Daemon and Summer in my care.

  23. My regular Nanna Day is Friday. I drive to the Gold Coast and my daughter-in-law goes to the gym then does the weekly shop. My grandson and I have lots of fun - as long as I do what I'm told!

  24. Oh, the memories. I'm not sure I could keep up with two toddlers any longer.

  25. I know how you feel, Diane! When I began taking care of my granddaughter full time during the day, when my daughter went back to work, I had toI think it helps to be young....lol!
remember back to how did I do it? I still don't remember how I was able to get dinner on the table every night when I had two little ones...I find that hard now.
It's wonderful to be able to do it, however, as they grow up so fast and it will be nice that they will remember us!

  27. I bet you are exhausted by bedtime! I was only in my late 40s/early 50s when we had our first grandchildren and when we'd have them for the day or weekend I couldn't imagine how I ever got anything done when I was raising my own kids (besides looking after and playing with the kids). But it is so worth it!!! I'm glad you are getting to spend this time with the boys.
