BYE BYE BABY BOYS

I will miss this gorgeous face

And this cute smile.

It was fun playing playdough with you.

It was fun taking you to the beach.

Granddaddy will miss his boys.

Aunty Carol will miss her adorable nephews.

We will miss our little family and only grand children but we wish them good luck and happiness in West Hollywood. California, USA.
Well that sad time has come when my youngest daughter, Sonya and her family are winging their way back to Los Angeles as I write this. She was so worried that the babies will be unsettled on the 15 hour flight from Melbourne to LA. I hope they are good for her.
Bernie, her husband has just finished ten weeks filming for Channel Seven's Beauty and the Geek, Australia. He is the host. Now they are going back to their home in LA where Bernie is trying to break into the American movie scene like many of his actor friends have. So far it has been hard for them. He has been doing many auditions and he has won a few small jobs but they are still hoping for the big one to come along.
While they were in Sydney we visited them for a few weeks and skyped often. At the end of Bernie's contract they went to Melbourne to spend a week with his family and today they sent a text from the airport saying bye bye. It brings tears to my eyes but they have to do what they want to do and we wish them the best of luck.

  4. I can empathise with you, Diane as I haven't seen my American born grandson since he was 13 weeks old in Denver last Christmas. Luckily we will see him here in our home for just 6 days early next month.

BUT !! Isn't skype great! We have been able to follow his progress visually, daily as you do yourself. Glad that you were able to have so much time with your beautiful "grandies".

  5. Dear Diane
Don't stress, Bernie and Sonya will be OK. Who knows Bernie may become a second Hugh Jackman!
Others have done it, so why not Bernie?
Then there is Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana, Russell Crowe, Heath Ledger and Geoffrey Rush etc.
It takes time and endurance and I am sure that Bernie and Sonya are up to the task.
Just think - a private jet like Mrs Urwin - Nicole Kidman.
Please if this eventuates don't forget me - ha ha.
    Cheers
    Colin (HB)

  6. Always sad to say goodbye. Hope Bernie will succeed with his dream. He is a good looking guy, I could watch him in a movie, would not be a punishment for me. But who am I?

  8. Last May I flew to Cincinnati to see my little girls ages 3 and 1. I'm so attached to the three year old and I didn't take it well when they moved from here to Cincinnati last October. She and I were just one. I stayed there a week and then on Saturday my son took me to the airport and Rhea went with us. I was about to go into the security line and I knelt down to hug her and she looked at me with those gorgeous blue eyes and said -"I will miss you, Grandma" - and I think I cried all the way to Phoenix. Such a bond between grandparents and grandchildren. I hope it's never broken but hard to keep so far away as they get older.

  9. Awww, the boys are so cute. I know how difficult it is to be far away from family. I hope you get another visit soon. Best of luck to your SIL as he searches for his break-out role!

  10. Awwww, Diane, such beautiful and precious pictures. Those grandbabies of yours are just the sweetest little darlings. Hope it won't be long before you see them again and my best to them and to Bernie for getting that big role. Thanks also for and stopping by and wishing Brad a Happy Birthday and for your sweet comment. He's still my baby but shhhh, don't tell him I said so. Sending a hug :)

  11. With his head cocked so angelically, Diane, Fox looks a lot like you. What beautiful children they and their parents (and grandparents!) are. I know how you feel: we saw our youngest granddaughter, Abby fleetingly in April - she is now five months old. We see her and her 2 1/2 yo brother next week. Yay! Our youngest grandson is 2 1/2 months old and now they've moved to Beira, Mozambique which is miles from where we live in the Free State. We've never seen little Israel. Have a great day. Jo

  13. Ah! You're going to miss them Diane ... Thank goodness for Skype ...you can still interact with them to a certain extent but it's not the same as having them here
    I hope they travelled well.

  14. They are returning to a hot summer here. Hopefully it will cool down before too much longer. The two little ones are so adorable and I know you and Bill will truly miss them over here on the other side of the world.

  15. There would be something wrong if you didn't miss cute kids like that.
And if they stay half that cute they may pull off some big acting roles themselves!

  18. Fabulous photos of their neat little family. I know you are so proud of them ---and will miss those precious grandsons. I wish them the best in the USA --as Bernie tries to make it in the world of acting here. God Bless them all---and God Bless you and Bill without the close-by...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  20. Ah, sweetie. Your post breaks my heart. I so understand how you feel, although I shouldn't complain as mine are in the same country as I am and even in the same time zone. But when they leave....it just guts you, doesn't it? And you worry. I ache for you.

Your grandsons are beautiful, as are your girls. As are you.

  21. It breaks my heart when you say they're leaving. I don't know how you can bear it. My grandbaby is only 250 miles away and that's too far!

  26. Ohhhhh. Diane I know exactly how you feel. Our daughter is going through withdrawal as her daughter and little boys just flew back home to South Carolina ... a long trip from Oregon for mommy with two little ones.
