When I walked in the morning with my buddies, I saw these ducks with ducklings dangerously crossing the road. I jumped out on the road and held up my hands to stop a car driving towards the ducks. The driver kindly waved and mouthed thank you.
Every Tuesday evening I play cards with a group of friends in the village. Dot and Peter are the hosts. Last month it was Dot's 80th so Ann (looking on) baked a cake for Dot and we had it for supper. There are quite a lot of village residents turning 80 this year.
It sounds like there'll be rather a lot of cake to come, and it is good to socialise with cake.
ReplyDeleteHurray for those who save ducks!!! Well done Diane! Loved the photos! Happy belated Birthday to Dot! That looks like a great cake!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Dot. Good age is 80, we are both there now.
ReplyDeleteThe ducks are gorgeous and nice of you to stop the other can..
Cute captures of the duck families. Happy birthday to Dot. Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of you to do that. Truly, we're sharing this planet with them. Happy birthday to your friend Dot. A great way to spend your Tuesdays, I'd say.
ReplyDeleteParents love and protect their children as best they can, and not just human parents. Your duck parents are very protective!
ReplyDeleteI am 1 more than 80 and I would love the ducks and the get togehter
ReplyDeleteKudos to you, Diane, for being a traffic safety officer for the duck family. Birthday get togethers with friends are always wonderful events to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet, those tiny ducklings crossing the road are such a lovely sight in spring, you did a wonderful thing stopping the car for them, that was very quick thinking. A birthday celebration for Dot with a homemade cake sounds like a delightful Tuesday evening, eighty is a lovely milestone, isn't it? It's nice that your village has such a friendly tradition.
